Best.movie.ever! :hugging:

“Anyway, like I was sayin’, shrimp is the fruit of the sea. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey’s uh, shrimp-kababs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that’s about it.” -Bubba Blue
A story about a life that sometimes seems determined and sometimes acts like a feather in the wind... And Hanks deserved a bow for his his performance in Forrest role.
Best movie ever? Why not?
This movie is awesome when you first see it but it's not really that great on repeat viewings
when he finally saw forrest jr. and he was like "is he smart?" i was like oh great now i gotta get up and get the tissues to wipe these ugly tears away
Still very sweet, earnest and emotive after all this time, though it very nearly drowns in a perpetual stream of fibs and exaggerations. The constant pop culture references, and Forrest's appearances in just about every last hallmark moment of his generation, act as both a blessing and a curse. They represent a majority of the film's enduring identity, with a certain amount of charm attributed to the seamy, not-quite-there execution of the archival footage, but it's often a case of too much of a good thing. His silly contributions during the continent-spanning run that seals the second act are particularly egregious - good for a very quick snort, but ultimately damaging to the story at large. It's got a big, heavy heart though, and that carries it a long way.
Tom Hanks, of course, is to thank for a great deal of that, but Gary Sinise is almost just as good in his cigar-chomping, world-loathing, hat-hanging support role as Lieutenant Dan. A one-of-a-kind classic that may have been just a smidge overrated at the time it was released, its cornerstone scenes still hold up very well and the classic cast of characters may as well be family at this point.
Best movie ever made? Possibly...
My childhood's movie.. Best Tom Hanks movie in my opinion.
How can it get any better than this?
This has some really weird subtext, not sure how it was perceived in the 90's but it certainly hasn't aged well.
It's definitely not something I'd recommend to someone with adult experiences and feelings, because this thing is kinda insulting as soon as you put any critical thinking into it.
The 5 is mostly for the craft, but it's very ill-conceived.
5/10
I probably should have watched this movie some time before now. I've heard Forrest Gump jokes most of my life, "run, Forrest, run!", "life is like a box of chocolates", and so on. I had a vague idea what the movie was about, and I never really took it seriously, but I guess I didn't quite realize how absurd and contrived the film is. Forrest Gump is an low IQ southerner who seems to be responsible or involved in some way with every historic event that occurred in mid-to-late 20th century America. He taught Elvis how to dance, met JFK, was there when the schools desegregated, won the medal of honor in Nam, talked with LBJ and Nixon, helped China open up, blew the cover off the Watergate break-ins, became a millionaire from shrimping, was an early investor in Apple computer, and probably half a dozen other things I can't even remember. At some point in the film he began to resemble an idiot savant Christlike figure. There were points where it reminded me of a more developed version of Robert Downey Sr.'s Greaser's Palace. That isn't really a compliment.
4 stars, instead of the 3 it probably deserves, because it was very well made, and some of the Vietnam sequences were pretty good (mostly just because they took place in Vietnam and had great music). I can't really recommend this film, but I can recommend Bubba Gump Shrimp Company. Always enjoy eating there whenever I get the chance.
I didn’t sit down to watch this movie in its entirety until rather recently, which is shocking because I have always loved Tom Hanks, especially comedy Tom Hanks. This movie is an absolute delight! It’s simple, heartwarming, quotable, and downright hilarious. This is truly a classic movie, that I’m sure many people out there share nostalgia with and love it more because of that. I know I was late to the party with this one, but I’ll certainly watch it countless more times in my life!
Rating: 4.5/5 - 9/10 - Highly Recommend
I'm very moved. This is a warm movie.
“And ‘cause I was a gazillionaire and i liked doing it so much, I cut that grass for free.” It was a crime I hadn’t watched this film yet. Maybe one of the most iconic screenplays of all time, possibly the most quotable movie ever. And the rewatchability level is insane.
Probably the greatest feel good movie of all time in perpetuum.
Forrest Gump isn't a movie, it a combination of multiple small movies. Since there is always something happening you won't be able to get your eye off the screen. Truly best movie of all time.
highly recommend one of the all time greats
A nice movie.
Forrest Gump's low IQ made him the kindest and most optimistic human out there. He is also incredibly lucky though haha
Every time I watch it, it gets better and better
This is one of the best flicks I have seen. Tom Hanks always does a good job. Gary Sinise & Sally Field Were Great Supporting Him
I truly enjoy this movie that has everything. I have also eaten at 4 of the restaurant locations, San Francisco, Anaheim , Laughlin & Santa Monica Pier.
Best movie of all time? Why not?
One of the best movies ever! This films is awesome.
My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
(One of my favorite films)
Tom Hanks really is sensational in this. The movie is a lovely story that you find yourself getting attached to and is one of those rare movies that has high rewatch value really love this movie.
I love this movie!
One of my all time fave Tom Hanks movies!!
Great movie...
This movie should be in advancer genre. The Advancer of Forrest Gump. If I can live his life ! The best movie ever. <3 <3 <3 it too much
Forrest Gump was kinda dumb. It was a well-made and executed movie, but the plot was just so contrived. There were a couple of moments where I was left incredulous that they'd really thought it was a good idea to awkwardly work something or other into the movie. Also, howdoesrunningwork. Other than that, it was a solid, if overrated, movie.
oh .. i can‘t tell you what is the greatest moment !!
Only took me 19 years, great movie!
This was my absolutely first watch of it.
I am very impressed. I was over and over with this movie.
I think it pictures what should be important to us. Not intelligence, being smart or what society thinks of us. But rather...being content with our life ourselves.
People mock Forrest all the time as stupid. I don't even think he is. I think he would somehow fit the description of an autistic person. In fact, he can indeed do very many things better than most people - despite failing at what seems to be basic and obvious to people. He just does what people say, and is stubborn and doesn't stop - and by this, ironically, is superior to these people that mock him in such aspects.
We get down. We compare ourselves to our environment, loose hope. smacked down. Forrest don't! He just keeps going, no matter what others think of him or tell him otherwise. We should be all like him.
it is outstanding!!!!! i have lost count on how many times i have seen it
Need Someone In My Life Like Forrest Gump
Best Movie EVER Tom Hanks is a legend
"Mama always said death was a part of life. I sure wish it wasn't."
I'm so glad I rewatched this today, because I was in desperate need of a good Friday afternoon cry.
Loved this movie so so so so very much its brilliant
Such a classic. Always loved this movie. Tom Hanks did such a great job!
Excellent story excellent writing excellent acting excellent
Forrest Gump is, hands down, one of the most heartwarming films I've ever had the pleasure of watching. Tom Hanks absolutely nails it as the lovable, unassuming Forrest, a guy who's maybe not the sharpest tool in the shed but has a heart as big as the great outdoors. He stumbles and bumbles his way through some of the most momentous events of the 20th century, all the while staying humble and true to himself. The movie is a roller coaster ride of emotions; one minute you're laughing your head off, the next you're reaching for the tissues. The screenplay is pure gold, filled with iconic lines that still resonate today - "Life is like a box of chocolates," anyone? What's truly magical, though, is how Forrest Gump makes you reflect on life, love, and the human spirit. Yeah, it might get a tad sentimental at times, but isn't that the beauty of it? It's a film that celebrates the simple, the pure, and the deeply human, and it's one heck of a ride that I would definitely recommend.
Theme- 9/10
Rewatchibility- 10/10
Acting- 10/10
Kinematography- 10/10
Time- 8.5/10
Total - 47.5/5 = 9.5
Life is like a box of chocolates, but Forrest Gump is more like a steak dinner. I say that because you are very likely going to fit into one of two camps: "I Love Steak!" or "I'm a Vegan." Forrest Gump is virtually the story of a guy who doesn't strive to be the center of attention but life just happens that way for him. Is it convoluted, yes quite but that's the point. With all that happens to Forrest, he is still unphased and unchanged by it and perhaps that's why these events continue to occur around him. I love the performances in this completely but I do understand that Hanks' role in particular could be seen as not aging too well or even a bit controversial. My only issue with it is the length. Two and a half hours for any movie becomes a commitment and luckily it does deliver a story that's worthy of my time.
Forrest Gump is truly one-of-a-kind. The film's original plot is nothing short of brilliant, as it follows the life of a simple man with a big heart who finds himself present at some of the most significant moments in American history. Tom Hanks delivers an excellent performance as Forrest Gump, bringing his character to life with authenticity and heart. The film's clever insertions into historical events provide a fascinating and humorous perspective on moments that have shaped our nation. With its perfect balance of humor and heart, Forrest Gump is an unforgettable experience that will leave you inspired.
I didn't get it. I understand the appeal, a not-so-bright man achieving many different things in life while still using his heart, but it didn't click with me. The plot seemed good at first but began to feel dragged out and overused. In my opinion, it was seriously overrated.
Through an imbecile, magnificent review of the recent history of the United States.
Tom Hanks’ performance is awesome and this is such a sweet and iconic movie. But is it the 11th best movie of all time (according to IMDb at the time of writing)? I think that’s a bit much.
Tom hanks is the best actor hands down. but the movie plot is pointless
Acting: 3/3
Cinematography: 3/3
Story: 3/3
Enjoy: +1
One of the best movies of all time my favorite.Tom Hanks one hell of an actor and director
I've heard a lot of people talking about this movie and now having seen it I can honestly see why. It was just a really good classic story that had me laughing and crying from beginning to end. Would definitely recommend this.
I felt the movie was to long, it wasn't that entertaining, the characters are not that entertaining for this long movie. Still it's not bad, I watched it in two parts.
Tom Hanks one of his best lovely story about the strength of the human spirit inspiring
Dynamic and catching story of the US, it's presidents and young generation
I haven't seen this in a long time and I always thought this was one of the best but after a rewatch its come down a little. It's still entertaining thanks to the crazy story and Tom Hanks. I did love seeing Forest in the old videos with the presidents. It was a little to long and the pacing was off. It felt like a few very distinct parts that didn't flow great.
Great story, but I think if Forest weren't so stupid film would be better.
Silly but watchable story. Drags near the very end, but how many other movies are like this? It's unique.
Image and sound 4/5. After many years without seeing it, we liked it very much. Tom Hanks is huge, how well told the movie is
9/10 really well made and great directed..
This movie is quite.... different. =*)
What a little ripper. Run, Forrest, run!
That movie is so amazing! Definitely going to watch it again.
A beautiful fable for now and the future.
I can't understand the reasons why everyone loves this movie
In catching cult movies I love the fact that all of you have seen it, and I just fall in love. Butterflies in my stomach, these things.
comparing to the book it's not that adventurous, but it's still good, and i loooove the theme song
I corrected it at themoviedb. Ill ask the admins to rescrape it.
The Description is in another language :(

I don't know how many times I've seen this film but it never gets old, just gets better.
Robert Zemeckis has done a great job on this film. The film tells a story of a not so bright guys life and all the adventures he takes, the events that take place in his life, people he meets on the way, and his best friend that he grows up with Jenny.
They were like peas and carrots.
It shows you that he runs like the wind blows and It's got a bit of every genre, bit everything for everyone, It sets of sad and happy emotions, It's quotes are beautiful and always gives off positive vibes and good advice.
The picture in this film shows how beautiful are world really is, shows there's much more to explore and I think all actors did fantastic and had great chemistry, Also Tom Hanks showed off a great performance to show how great he is as an actor and he's proven that in future films ahead of this film.
I was sad that they've not made a book on this film, would love to read other than watch as the book they’ve based it on was about a guy called Forrest Gump that crashed landed on an island, where he was captured by cannibals but only the name Forrest Gump followed.
Life is like a box of chocolates because you don't know what you're gonna get. Well I'm glad i got to see this film for the first time years back because It's honestly a film to watch before you die and the best film I’ve ever seen.
