Was excited to see another film that has Angela Bettis and David Arquette in it. Seen it and no longer excited. For a low-budget effort, this film nails the style, it's very stylish with some gorgeous set design but for some reason I couldn't get into it at all. I think it has a pretty neat concept with a fun cast, but a bit predictable and feels totally empty. The slow pace doesn't help but make it feels much longer than it is. The way everyone moves and talks is so consistently unnatural. Everything is so unnecessarily dramatic, and it tries too hard to be oh-so-magical, yet it's just empty and fake. Also, the tone of this film is very bizarre, like watching a family friendly western film but with deaths and gore. The musical sequence makes me uncomfortable (I hate musical) and the flashing red-orange color used on nightmare sequences is nauseating. I mean it's watchable but a rather empty experience.
