That was one of the best episodes to me. That episode about a guy who is non-selected, basic, normal. That's the other side of the medallion. Because, we always watch war of heroes, life of heroes etc. That's why this is one of the best TV series for that reason
A bit of a boring episode but that slight detail at the end made it worth it
Oh, it's another pointless flashback episode...
Such a deep episode about the average ordinary non-chosen people. A category of people that is often neglected in tales of heroism. A lot of us can relate to this episode.
I can't believe how people say these episodes are boring and they don't like flash backs! This is a STORY not a wrestling show, you can't have battle scenes every episode without some context, background, storyline, character development! Only people who watch for the meaning and interpretation of stories will understand this.
This is one of the best episode from this most epic series of all time. I for one struggle to become the special one, trying to contract my acts, my deeds, and emotions from people around me. Such urgency is deeply rooted from the pressing hope from my parents since I was a kid. That is when I become something that is not myself, something modeled after hopes and dreams of other people. Back to the episode, when Carla responded to the former commander's rant by that simple question, that melts everything, the whole wall of fake and unreal-ism just crumpling down, by the simple, pure love of a mother. If you follow Eren's journey from the 1st 3 seasons, knowing Carla and knowing her story, the wave of feeling is simple too strong to resist, too real to not to be touched. It gives a glimpse of light from the dark, seemingly tragic past for the story. Kudo to the producer, director and manga writers of the AoT. Masterpiece of an era. Thank you.

I love it when this show goes full circle and shows you how things were planned out since the beginning. So fantastic.
