This only compares to House if you're not looking for fun. Neuroscience really just used as a pretext to get weird.
2 episodes and it's a pass for me, I shouldn't have read those House comparison, got my hopes up.
If by the 5th episodes someone reads my comment and still thinks it's got House vibe, please reply to my comment and explain what I missed, I'll give it another shot and hopefully rectify... but I wouldn't bet on it.
A gay version of House. Wokeism has infested every show.
The first episode didn’t grab me. I saw its potential, an ensemble around a brilliant but overly damaged, eccentric doctor, but haven’t we seen this before? HOUSE , THE GOOD DOCTOR? So, I gave it another episode for a change to stand out. It’s going to be a miracle every week drama. They have given it enough support characters that there will be lots of behind the scenes revelations. I’m just not sure I’m interested in following another bland, episodic drama, when there are so many other really good shows on my watch list. After 2 episodes I’m saying, “Adios”. I’m giving this series a 6 (standard fare) out of 10.
I wasn't sure whether to watch this or not, as I'm not really into medical dramas. But as Zachary Quinto was in it thought I would give it a go and a surprise to me I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is basically a rip-off of "House" with new "Spock with a beard but without the ears in the lead role, and, instead of him being physically challenged and walking with a cane and a limp, and fighting addiction, the gave him "face blindness" and an estranged(?) mother as the head of the hospital. Race swapped the "Cuddy" role, and gave him a diverse staff of interns to shepherd. Still it was a pretty good watch with the weird illness of the week, and flashbacks to what made him who is now is to keep it interesting.
quirky doctor lead...already sounding familiar? Brilliant minds is a show about a doctor who gets fired so his other doctor friend gives him another job. First episode was okay, some of the dialogue was clunky like those comments/jokes/(are we supposed to laugh about that?) of him being gay. Didn't like the whole scene where he and that other doctor take prescription drugs (the car scene). A lot of this has already been hear/seen before, but done better in House. Of course his Mom is the head doctor, a "plot twist" anyone with a brain could see coming. So far it's a 6/10.
