time for this show to end the plot is getting ridiculous the characters keep making the same mistakes over and over
I give up on this. Boring.
I can't watch this show anymore. I literally don't like or care about any of the characters. Nobody ever makes a good decision. I'm done.
Better than walking dead, feel more life more reality more touching
Thought the first episode was pretty interesting. Lots of people were expecting a "how the virus became" show instead of just the start of the end. I can't wait to see where this season goes.
It's one of these series I just keep watching because I already started doing it, but it's a really really bad show. It was good at the beginning, I even liked it more than TWD at some point, overall when TWD started to lame as well, but now IMHO both series are just ridiculous, boring, predictable and too long. It seems like if there are no screenwriters anymore, just a couple of guys doing an internship, and Kirkman and Moore just opening the script on the last page and signing it without even read.
How can such a shit show get so many seasons while other incredible good shows get canceled :triumph:
This show was supposed to be before TWD. How can it have crossover with characters from TWD? Morgan came into the show pretty much where he left TWD. I forget the guys name, but negans guy with the burn on his face, same thing he knew Morgan and what happened.
I guess when they said it was pre twd, I thought it would at least use new story for crossover characters
Damn this spin-off is damn retarted.
Actors who can't act like shit.
Emotions not coming off.
Random insane moment that makes no sense.
Crappy show for now.
Hopefully they will make it better in next season.
So more of the same??? Why a Spin-Off? If they have so many plot ideas, why not putting it in the main series? The main series could need some fresh air.
This show burst onto the scene with immense potential, delving into uncharted territories within the TWD universe and exploring unknown periods. The characters were intriguing, although hindered by less-than-stellar performances from the actors. As a devoted fan of the TWD universe, witnessing this series unfold was initially captivating, with moments that rivaled the main show in greatness.
However, as the narrative progressed, the show gradually lost its essence, culminating in episodes that were undeniably lackluster. Ultimately, despite its decline, one can argue it retains some merit when evaluating the entirety of its episodes, thanks to the initial 4-5 seasons that ranged from acceptable to occasionally outstanding.
I think I'm gonna stop at season 4. First 3 seasons were ok, but now it's become boring and characters keep making stupid mistakes just to drive the plot. And Morgan is the most naïve character I have ever seen on TV.
At start i hate it..then i watch it with my wife and it catches us like regular twd..
we loved that family then victor,morgan...
but alicia is best character here :innocent:
1-3 5/5
4 3/5
5 5/5
Put it out of its sappy misery already! Edit: forgot to write stupid
Has the main series become too bad for you to keep watching? Try this!
The first two seasons aren't any good, but it starts to pick up in the third season, although I would recommend starting at season 4 because it kind of acts like a soft reboot, and is of a much higher quality than the past seasons, you don't really need to know the back story of the previous seasons to enjoy season 4 onwards.
Love it all the latest episodes are best
Wow the level of stupidity in this show is mind boggling. How are these terrible writers allowed to have a job making shows like this?
I liked season 1. I hated season 2 and 3.
I was certain that season 4 would be trash too. But, I was wrong. I think by them introducing Morgan to the series was a good move. It made this season way more enjoyable to watch. I can't wait for season 5!
getting better every season, actually.
Can't believe people are bashing this show already. Give it a chance, it won't be the same as TWD in one episode.
Wasn't a fan of the pacing of the first episode. I felt it was really slow considering the audience already knows where things end up. Gonna give it a chance though because I'm a fan of the main show.
Season by season the series got better. But Season 4 is just bad and boring. Morgan is one of TWD's most annoying characters and that has not changed at FTWD.
Season 3 has really pulled it's socks up. Much darker than TWD and the softness has abated. The characters that brought the series down are removed, leaving the interesting and strong players to evolve. The second half of the season has some fantastic writing and emotion. I'm finding it more interesting than the Rick centric slop being served up by TWD now.
The characters are just stupid...I constantly root against them and cheer on the hordes. As long as Victor Strand is alive I'll keep watching.
Kim Dickens is the best!!! Also really enjoying seeing a perspective from when it all began.
I sincerely hope that AMC throws this show in the waste bin along with that atrocity, TWD: Beyond. AMC is now on par with the CW as far as the level of writing goes. If they keep churning out crappy TWD spinoffs then they will be bankrupt by end of spring next year. Nobody with half a brain would that rubbish.
Awful show. The original one is brilliant because it's well written and the actors are also very good. This one is badly written, only a poor copy of the original one. No story at all, bad acting and there isn't a single sympathetic character in this story.
This show bout to get a huge fan base from all of the 100 fans who are pissed at Jason and want to watch Alycia
Oh my god, this season final is beautifull !!! :)
That #FearTheWalkingDead premiere was crazy; moreso than The Walking Dead's pilot ☠
Wish more shows do this Story Sync thing
#FearTWD
its 2023, Season 8, and Morgan is still the annoying character in the entire FTWD series. Someone should just kill him.
Just when you think a bad show can't get any worse... It gets worse... And continues to get worse every episode, every season.. Done wasting my time.. It's time for the Walking Dead TV Shows to be cancelled. If the writers and Director want to be so lazy with the show and/or story line. Then they don't deserve our attention or money.
The first couple of seasons were okay but I have no intention of ever continuing it after seeing the abysmal ratings for the last few seasons.
Gave up halfway through season five as i was just watching because i hate starting shows and not completing them.
Catching up on season 3 and I'm getting more into it. Felt like season 2 was a bit slow but definitely getting better.
Take the Walking Dead and remove all characters with any common sense or worth caring about and replace with zombait tadaaaaaaa new series
It's like The Walking Dead, just more whining.
It is going to beat the heck out of The Walking Dead!
The finale payed off for the shitty season :)
What is AMC thinking about this show? Unbelievable boring, uninspirating, no action, no thrilling moments, no zombies, and an uninteresting family drama with standard characters.
3 episodes in and its almost just as boring as the original show. Keep on milking that cow AMC...
I really thought that this show would be a tad more interesting. But just as i thought, it was boring as hell. Just like the walking dead! Its really disappointing, as i really wanted this to be good!
Not bad actually. Completely different angle and perspective than TWD. Nicely build atmosphere. Wonder which direction they will go for next episodes. First one is definitely worth to watch. Will see another two or three.
Okay, time to edit completely my comment.
Season 1 to 3 is really weak. The beggining is good then the season 2 and 3 are very bad. I don't know how many writers are in this show, but it feels they didn't know what to do with some characters or forgot what they were building with them.
Now, I'm watching season 4 and the show is almost rebooted. I don't know if there will be some explanations but they did the "somehow" technique for a lot of characters. To be honest, let's forget the first 3 seasons. With season 4, FTW is now connected to TWD and I enjoy again watching it.
I still remember the day I started watching this show and the joy that gave me at the time... Honestly I had really high hopes for this show, specially because of the first season. Although second, third and fourth season still delivered very good entertainment but I have to point a finger to the point where the decision to have Morgan come to Fear the Walking Dead was made. I think that decision was what "killed" this show. I think the plot with the Clarks was very well made and had great potential but somewhere in the middle of the show horrible decisions were made and the show went from "Can't wait to watch the next one" to only watching the end of it after 1 year of it coming out, every episode was filled with "Why are they doing that?" or "What stupid decision are they going to make now?" and to me that killed the whole show. I just wish we could go back in time and don't let certain decisions affect this show directly.
3 Thoughts After Completing ‘Fear the Walking Dead’:
Oh Fear the Walking Dead, the killer of characters, how I’ll instead remember you as The Walking Dead: Fever Dream… because this has been one of the most nonsensical, inconsistent, painful, wasteful series that I have ever spent so much time watching. There was clearly no long-term game plan here. This was merely a cash grab. There’s nothing cohesive about any of these seasons. There has been zero character development, only character confusion, fit to make a viewer’s head spin. A true failure in every sense of the word.
This was meant to depict the BEGINNING of the zombie apocalypse. A peek that the flagship show couldn’t give us. A treat for fans. But I always thought they left LA too soon. We never got to know these characters, as much as we should have, before everything went south. We never got that peek! The plot was rushed from the jump… leading to yet ANOTHER post-apocalyptic journey with not a modicum of direction.
To criticize the show should not suggest I would criticize the talent. So many wonderful actors have graced this show. And the characters themselves aren’t horrible either! Most of them, at least. They simply weren’t given the writing, and general justice, that they deserved.
Series that starts well but as the seasons go by it deflates
This show was abysmal. The first season had a little promise, but it went downhill from there. I gave the series 4 stars, but that was being generous and based on the last 15 minutes of the very last episode, which was pretty good.
Well, let's see what is going to happen now. :sunglasses:
Could not make it past episode 3. Same general vibe as The Walking Dead just with different characters. Not worth the time when you can't even watch TWD past season 6.
worst show on Earth. pointless story with no character development at all. it was great till season 3. after that, it's AMC's circus
Very good serie if you enjoy the walking dead universe, it's a bit more ellaborated than the other one!
It's getting better and better every season
Not a fan of any of the characters. I was actually looking forward to seeing them get eaten. Especially the self righteous mother. Pretty sure California wouldn’t do well in a zombie apocalypse.
Is there gonna be another season, or unknown yet due to the COVID-19 outbreak?
You do not need to compare this to TWD for it to be horrible. Actors who can't act, awfully written dialogue, horrible pacing. Just another one for the pile of cheap, lousy shows.
For me the show started off interesting, then got a bit boring in the middle and has picked up a lot in season 4 now that certain boring "one expression" people have gone and it has picked up pace with the introduction of someone from another series
I watched the first season when it aired and I thought it was okay, but I didn't have high hopes for future seasons as I didn't really connect with any characters as quick as I did with The Walking Dead. Because of this I stopped watching and fell behind with the episodes and it wasn't until I finished season 9 of TWD (which was amazing and made me fall back in love with my favourite show) and found out Dwight was joining Fear that I decided to binge watch seasons 2, 3 and 4.
I have to say I didn't have high expectations but it surprised me in how much I enjoyed it - especially season 3 - although many new characters were introduced in season 4 who I now love. It's not as good as the original in my opinion but it is still well worth the watch, especially if you love the world of The Walking Dead.
A lot more familiar faces on this show actor wise as I guess they need that which is cool. I like that it's different than TWD even though they deal with the same themes like; Are we on the right side? Are we the bad guys? And how far will you go to avenge or protect someone? Also, how surviving in a dead world changes you, a lot of times for the bad and how do the characters deal with these questions.
All in all I'm excited for season 5 and so happy I have this show to tide me over until season 10 of TWD airs in what feels like a million years lol.
8/10 - Fear TWD.
10/10 - The Walking Dead.
on Season 2. the main plot is seems ok, the sub plots are crappy to downright horrible. But nothing surpasses the poor acting by most of the main cast and zombies are snails
i did give score 8 after 1st season, BUT...
first 2 seasons were ok (kinda), 3rd was meh and 4th season is... a complete waste of time.
needed to fast forward 4th season because its sooo boring that its almost unwatchable.
5/10
1.5/5 is what I rate this show.. Season 5 needs to step it up!!!!
I know they can get better
Season 4 wasn't bad but it lacked plot and pacing was horrible
Acting was amazing in some episodes
I don’t see the point of this show. Prob the worst show on TV in 2018
I loved the storyline of Nick being a heroin addict in season one and waking up high and to his girlfriend being the dead and they didnt even know about it.and how the family always seems to come together. And this last season i couldnt believe they killed Nick off for me he was the one that made the show. But putting Morgan into the mix was great. I hope next season they meet up with Rick and we all know Madison is not dead. And she'll find her family like she always does.
The only good thing about this show is Alycia.
the plot is boring and there's no survival stuff like in twd.
What an excruciatingly painful and boring TV series ; what can I say anymore. Maybe, crappy writing, crappy acting, crappy story...
Same old same old... I am getting tired of this same formula they used in TWD. I was a fan for many seasons and finally decided to abandon TWD after love hate boring relationship. I expect something fresh after watching the pilot and some eps... But this show becomes more and more like TWD. Dragging us around and around among the boring chars. Thats it I am out ✌
Morgan is truly evil character. Constantly screwing over good people by selling them out to the bad people.
WTH is thing about “...tell me your story...”? I hate Morgan...such a back stabber. He doesn’t want to hurt anyone but he’ll see
Love Alycia debnam Carey.... Amazing actress
Stuck with this till S03E09 and now finally faced up to the realisation that this is basically TWD.
Boring really when you feel you've seen all this before.
Boring, slow and bad acted. Not a very interesting start for the secon season. Hope it gets better! Really not as good as TWD!
gave up half way through season 2, just don't like any of the characters.
It's, obviously, not THE WALKING DEAD and has many weak episodes, but it's getting very good at the moment
I dropped in the middle of the second season. This show is just awful. It had an awesome premise, I mean, who wouldn't love to see how the zombie outbreak started? It didn't had to explain why and how the virus was spread, but just explore the first cases, showing the people getting crazy and stuff like that. The first episode was just awesome, but then they got trapper in the condo, then trapped in the house, then trapped in the middle of the ocean, then trapped in the island. Enough with that bullshit! Got out! Kills some zombies just to change things a little bit.
saying it again. this can not get any worse than it is now. awful
Really disappointing. Getting worst if that's possible
Didn't really like the first season of the "original" TWD, but gave it a chance and now i'm hooked like many others... Same happened to me with FTWD, S1 was slow and painful. Set in the "pre-epidemic" world as we know it and transitioning to the "post-epidemic" world that we know from TWD gets surprisingly boring at some points. I always thought that seeing how the outbreak happened while Rick Grimes was in the coma would be interesting, but the way FTWD brings it simply isn't. I think S1 fails where its main mission was: the outbreak, the development of it, and how people organized to survive through it . Six episodes to introduce new characters, showing the early spreading of the epidemic and escaping the urban area of LA is just too short. I felt the show was in search of its identity, trying desperately to distinguish itself from its already successful 6 seasons old big brother; The Walking Dead. Another problem that creates redundancy is that some of the main characters are facing moral dilemmas or ethical decisions that were already addressed in TWD.
Season 2 being set in the early post-epidemic, makes it better than the previous one for numerous reasons; main characters don't need intro, survivors ganging/making alliances, obviously more survivors (friendly or hostile) to deal with and lots of "fresh walkers". The show seems to gradually find it's place in the TWD universe, making you like FTWD as a whole rather than feeling you are watching a wannabe TWD. As seasons and episodes go by, i think it's only gonna keep getting better, and maybe pave the way to a third show to TWD spectrum... possibilities are endless and many roads remains to explore in this universe. My advice for anyone hesitating or judging by the reviews would be to give it a fair chance and make up your own mind. My ultimate fantasy would be at some point in time (surely after a few seasons and after adjusting the timeline); a crossover between TWD and FTWD.
The show is not even close to TWD. This group of people only has two people with depth (Nick and Chris - even though Chris is not likable at all) and it isn't untill the second season that you feel a little bit of that group feeling that is felt in TWD. The story is okay, not as thrilling and it moves rather slowly but it's interesting to see where it all began and to see another group of people deal with it on a completely different level than the group we are used to in TWD. Okay show.
Man "fear the walking dead" is hard to watch this time round..the full on apocalypse shouldn't have happened till like maybe sn3..cause now it's just TWD:lite..
There's lots they could have done..governments failing..gradually..not instantaneously..if they were going for the realistic fall of society to zombies..it wouldn't be instant tbh..
Fear the Walking Dead is the show for people who watched The Walking Dead and thought that show has too much action, and very little discussing and contemplation about what is happening. Glad that AMC gave those people spin-off so they could just spend an hour watching episodes where people are just moping around and expressing feelings and stuff.
This show rather entertaining, and has a good setting, along with some skilled actors, but it is equally as bad as it is good, especially when it comes down to characters, whom can be terribly annoying and illogical, even considering their situation.
An example - omitting many details - is one character feeling absolutely terrible after helping to kill a zombie, as one would if it was still one of their first encounters, but one or two episodes later, without much development or change to how they feel about the killing zombies, never mind humans, they contribute greatly to the events that will lead to the death of dozens of military personnel whom were doing so-called 'questionable' but completely logical arrests, and the dozens of at-risk civilians that they were holding in cells, and the character feels completely fine about this, and sees it as a just action, and never brings mention to it again, yet carries on to feel bad about that first zombie.
Into season 2 now and still no explanation on how the virus even got started. What about patient zero or how it got started or who started it.
#ShiftvW8
This show was very boring but now in the episode 6 is just like walking dead season 1 episode 1 this have any sense #ShiftvW8
I'm becoming an Walking Dead watching this series.
I don't know if I have a high expectation because of the original series, but I don't feel interested in any character besides Nick. The others are too predictable, the story is slow and didn't see nothing especial in the plot. The Walking Dead has a great oportunity to acting and directing shine, but in this one, haven't see much, just a few times when some emotions exploded.
It's a shame, will continue until the end of the season, then we will see.
After the first season i think it's much better than TWD. Maybe only the first season of TWD is that good. I hope they stay at that quality.
There are at least two lies in the title of this show (and the word show is also a lie).
What in the seven seas? Some characters are so dull and stupid it's hard to watch. Also some of the "action" is drawn in such a ridiculously bad way it looks more like a parody of what FTWD should have become. Riots? Lets stand on a scaffolding and shake it in a robotic way. Well... my friends and I made it a running gag to throw random objects (like pens or a piece of paper) on the ground in a very "angry", rioty way. xD Maybe, they should be more thorough when casting extras. They could also instruct them to act better.
I hope it gets better... 4 episodes of boring story and superficial character "development"... 5th was okay, though. I hope they can keep that pace.
i've stuck it out and now its almost season finale but I gotta say this show is a snooze fest. Not as captivating as the original show.

Thoughts based on the first episode.
I like zombie movies, especially the old ones. And what the more recent films of the genre don't pay attention to is the fact that zombies are dumb, they are slow. "Night of the living dead" [minor spoiler ahead] ends with humanity prevailing (in a way), and it's not surprising, decaying slow-moving corpses are a threat that can be dealt with. [end of spoiler] But I guess it doesn't make for a good movie or a long-running series. And film makers would rather have a grittier, tougher, depressing ending, that would make it clear that humanity is doomed and they are willing to toss all logic aside. But I've never felt it, because it doesn't make any sense. It's like a cliche now, and I'm sick of it. [minor spoilers for 28 days/weeks later ahead] 28 days later had an amazing ending. But the sequel had to go and ruin it: "Yeah! Zombies are everywhere, humanity is doomed, look at it! Are you depressed yet, are you?! Isn't this cool and exciting?" No! Quit it. [end of spoilers]
My point is, Fear the Walking Dead shows the start of the epidemic from a social standpoint and it does it well. It seems realistic. I watch it and I think "yeah, that is probably how it would have happened". Not fast with lots of screaming and people running around, but with lots of confused people not knowing what's going on. The government doesn't know how to deal with this problem, no one does.
This show finally dares to answer the question: if zombies are slow and dumb - how are they in power? Even when people see a walker, they don't fully comprehend it, they can't believe their eyes. They have never seen a zombie-movie, there's no such thing as a walker yet. No one knows the true gravity of the situation, they don't know what awaits them, they don't know there is going to be an apocalypse.
And that's why it's interesting for me to watch.
I also continue hoping for a zombie movie sequel taking place after the apocalypse, where survivors would have to deal with the guilt of things they've done, trying to rebuild society, scientists trying to figure out what caused the epidemic (with possible flashback). But I don't think it'll happen, because the majority apparently thinks it's boring. And it's a shame. Oh, well.
