I so don't care about Maggie
I'll say it, Amelia deserves better.
I gave it a high value, because finally Maggie is out of the show. Annoying!
Winston gets adoration apart from Maggie, Maggie's facing the question whether she's like Alice, Schmitt's shining when treating a teenager, Amelia is devastated when Kai leaves for London, and Jo gets news about Luna's health.
Honestly, the episode spends so much time telling Maggie that she isn't Alice, that she isn't cold... well, if you have to tell over and over again, it appears as though you missed out on showing it. The writers alternatively showed her as childish (the prodigal who never had ordinary relationships) and aloof/arrogant. Amelia says that Maggie's invested in her cases, and that shows that she isn't cold. But Alice also was invested in her cases. And it's said that Alice was so cold because she was so very unhappy with her private life... And if Maggie followed her heart she wouldn't end up like Alice. WTF? Alice was cruel towards Meredith, she chose not to get together with Webber because of her career. The series spent whole episodes on her coldness, but dedication... not for her patients but the cases (which is a huge difference). Alice ultimately was selfish, and Maggie is as well. And if she defines her relationship with Winston just by what he's doing for her professionally... well, that says everything. She puts her career above her private life - which, don't misunderstand me, is okay. It's her decision. However, she should just stick with her decision and not lament about being so different than Alice. Maybe the whole thing appears so very ridiculous because everyone acts as though she's out of the picture forever. That goodbye between Webber and Maggie... please... there are planes, there are videochats... she leaves for Chicago, not the next galaxy.
Amelia's on the other end of pretty much the same discussion. Kai leaves for London, without telling Amelia before they made the decision... which is... well... again, it's Kai's decision. However, it tells much about Kai and Amelia's relationship, where Kai was never involved with Scout and they were happy in this long distance relationship. Well, if anything, you definitely should define the parameters of a relationship, especially in such a complex situation, as long distance, pre-existing children, and talk about the value of the relationship vs career and not just spend every visit in bed. Sorry, Kai, but you acted just like Maggie here... knowing how Amelia'll take it, and still not caring enough to tell her more gently. I hope Amelia won't spiral now, she definitely deserves better.
Liked Schmitt's plot. It feels like the first time he's contributing other than bitching about the interns or whatever else.
Link was great in this episode and the previous one... and he's obviously in love with Jo who's just as oblivious, albeit now very distracted by Luna's loss of hearing.

Finally the most annoying character of the show did quit. She was selfish, annoying and also badly acted. Sorry, not sorry.
