Very amusing, in hindsight, that Robert Picardo played a character named Joe here. About eight years later, the name "Joe" would become a joke around his role as the unnamed holographic doctor in Star Trek: Voyager. (It's been 20 years; do I still need to spoiler-tag that? Meh, I'll be lazy.)
There's also a guy who walks across the restaurant as Tim & Jill enter, who looks like he could be William Russ (Alan Matthews, Boy Meets World). Wouldn't be entirely out of line, since 1) they were both ABC sitcoms; 2) both shows were produced around the same time; and 3) Russ' costar Betsy Randle (Amy Matthews) played Jill's sister on 7 episodes of Home Improvement.
