one of the best seasons of all time
be prepared for starting this show. it's seriously addictive. couldn't even take a break to share my thoughts. so much happened (22 43-minute episodes is gonna pack a lot). i don't recall much of that time being wasted with unnecessary plot deviations. might have been a few details that didn't make sense, but wow, it's incredible. if it were up to someone like me, I'd get hung up on something not making perfect sense that I could never produce the overall brilliance (that is, if i had the ability in the first place). veronica was a weak spot. she didn't add much value and was simply annoying. but with so many characters and storylines to develop... also, I nitpick. really hate how the redeemable characters die, while the self-serving ones survive (that's life, though, right?). but it does a good job showcasing good people doing bad things (out of choice or necessity) and vice versa. circumstances always change, forcing the people to change with em, just like Michael with his escape plans. 'adversity does not build character; it reveals it.' even then, it's not so simple. when the adversity means risking your own life? you'll have to compromise your character. usually, the characters handle such a choice in one of two ways: and some change from one to the other. and it never feels like the character choices are just to confound or tantalize the viewer - the choices make sense to the story and the character. one hell of a show so far (halfway through season 2)

From Fox comes the exciting political drama Prison Break. In Season 1 Michael Scofield intentionally gets sent to prison with a secret plan to break out his brother Lincoln Burrows; meanwhile, Lincoln’s attorney stumbles upon a political conspiracy that reaches to the highest levels. Starring Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Sarah Wayne Callies, Robin Tunney, Robert Knepper, Frank Grillo, and Patricia Wettig, the show has an extraordinary cast that delivers some really good performances. And the writers do a great job at creating intrigue and suspense as Michael enacts his plan and has to recruit allies and overcome the complications that come his way. Additionally, the directors do an impressive job a making the Fox River prison a character, with distinct areas and a clear path that the escape will use (often shown as a series of rapid quick cuts for the act breaks). Still, there are some plot contrivances and extraneous subplots to extent the story to 24 episodes. Yet overall, Season 1 of Prison Break is incredibly exciting and full of thrills.
Currently rewatching Prison Break, season 1 is probably the best season of any show ever! Every episode is just pure art.
Even when you kinda know what’s going to happen you still sit on the edge of your seat, I was screaming at the tv in the final 2 episodes.
This is perhaps patient zero for concepts that can’t actually be turned into TV shows but are because of the world’s insatiable need for more TV shows. I remember becoming vaguely aware of the premise for a future season and I just couldn’t even believe it.
