The Stan part of this episode somewhat drops the ball as far as potential is concerned and given also what came before it. The Matrix parody gets enough laughs and it cleverly incorporates Stan's current predicament into the parody. I particularly like some of the absurd "patients" that the Morpheus-based character introduces in the hallway to Sharon and Stan as he's going in for treatment of Asperger's, only to reveal soon after that they are just taking measures to keep their actual identities secret as members of an underground group .
The Cartman side of things is also quite solid even if it doesn't maybe reach the heights of what the show is capable of by the end. This premise promises a lot of fun and while it delivers, it did leave me feeling a little dissatisfied and wishing things got a little crazier.
I ultimately find it disappointing that Randy and Sharon reconcile by the very end of the episode just as Stan's coming to terms with moving on with his life. It's intended to be partly humourous and maybe even partly a little frustrating, as it undercuts Stan's epiphany but I wish the show kept this arc going a little longer (maybe until the ending of the season) .
Anyways, I enjoy "Ass Burgers" but it doesn't hit the heights of the previous episode by any means.

I really feel for Stan in this episode - he sees many of the things around him suddenly how they really are: shit.
Someone needs to play him Slayer’s ‘Reign In Blood’ album, turned up to 10. He’ll be fine... :metal_tone1:
