Klaus and Elijah, together to the very end. This was one of those series finales that left you satisfied, they tried to cover all loose ends as best as possible. Klaus finally redeemed himself and Elijah’s gesture at the end was sweet and endearing. I will miss the Mikaelson brothers.
What the hell did I just watch? What? So in the end the last surviving Original is Kol? Seriously? WTF?
I hate everything about this series finale. Well, not everything. There's one tiny upside, and that's Rebekah finally getting to be human. Girl's wanted to have a baby since the days of The Vampire Diaries. So I'm really happy she'll get her happily ever after. Really, she deserves it.
Everything else? No.
It would've been so much better for Elijah to sacrifice himself, after all the crap he put everyone through this season. He should've redeemed himself from his selfish actions from the beginning of the season by being selfless in the end. Klaus dying and leaving Hope an orphan is bullshit. And unnecessary. He could have lived happily ever after with Caroline keeping him on a well behaved leash. Or at least, he could've become a human, too.
To me, this feels like a cop out. The writers didn't know how to deal with him being alive in the Legacies time-line, and so they went the easy route and got rid of Klaus, one of the best, most complex characters I've ever seen on a TV show.
I'm upset and disappointed. I mean, c'mon. Since when is killing off practically all of your main characters considered to be a good ending?

so Klaus didn't want Elijah to sacrifice himself, and therefore he took the darkness. but Elijah killed himself anyway in the end?? what was the damn point then, Hope didn't have to lose her father. Elijah could've just taken the darkness if he was gonna kill himself anyway ugh
i would've liked the ending hadn't it been for this bullshit

I couldn't see it ending any other way. I'm sad that it's over, but I'm happy for the closure. And I'm excited to watch Legacies!
I watched the last 4 episode in a row. Didn't think I'll have tears left for this last one but I was so wrong
A good series finale, left me satisfied and absolutely heartbroken
The finale is kind of stupid.
Klaus has to die (and end his whole bloodline), Ending Elijahs Bloodline too they basically just killed 2/3 of all remaining Vampires in the world, yet no one even thinks about reminding Elijah of that.
This would have been an extraordinary finale if I had forgotten that fact (which they spun a whole Season around for f*** sake...) - like this its subpar.
I hope they pick that up in Legacies, since all vampires can only be descendants of Rebekah unless they spin some kind of explanation why that particular vampire survived...

Ah, I wish Elijah would have told Klaus about the definitive proof of the afterlife that he got from Hope. And that they had shown them find peace like they did for the TVD cast. I'm sad they're gone, of course, but ultimately I feel it was a worthy end for them. And perhaps at some point in Legacies Hope will have another near death experience...?
I agree with all who say that this finale was not really a good ending, though it turned out to be rather moving. I can understand Elijah's desire to accompany his brother and die with him (as he also hoped to reunite with Hayley after death), but I believe that Klaus did not have to die or rather should not die because Hope needed her father to be with her and watch her grow up. She has recently lost her mother and Klaus was the only surviving parent, so I guess it may have take a heavy toll on her as she may feel indirectly responsible for the deaths of both her parents. Losing another parent may traumatise her, particularly as she has already bonded with her father. It would be better (and totally in character of the loyal brother) for Elijah to take the curse upon himself to save his brother and help his niece. He would be the best option as he was the only person who was not in any relationship from among the Mikaelsons. It would be great to watch Hope together with her father. And maybe Caroline would get a chance to start a new life and find some happiness with Klaus.
The moment Klaus said the first goodbye speech to hope, I knew he was really goingto die and it was the right end for the character.
Overall, I'm so glad to have lived these 5 seasons suffering with Klaus' dilemmas.
The best thing this show has always done is making his problems so emotionally relatable for the viewers (even if we weren't immortal nor vampires like him)
Such a tear jerker. Bad enough that Vampire Diaries has ended but now also The Originals. Truely sad that its all over
I like that Julie honored Stefan but i don't know if Klaus should die. In my opinion Klaus and Caroline should be end like friends in this chapter and he survive and take care of Hope because Camille was his truly love and Stefan was Caroline's love . .
By otherwase my Elijah always stay with Klaus, he is a love.

Beautiful ending, a lot of tears, touched hearts gently and finished awesomely. So sad that it is finished but it was about time... Nice job writers, directors and of course actors.
I wish they didn't have enough another season that was my favorite show I seen that like three times and I loved each and every single moment
Wow I gotta admit I am sad after watching the last episode … after all it was a good show. Didn’t expect it to end this way, soo many deaths … what confuses me a lot - what about all the vampires Klaus and Elijah turned? Will they die now, too???

Late to the party but FINALLY finished the show.. the last season .. where do I start?? Hmm.. Hayley died and a few eps later Klaus died too? Leaving hope parent-less? Oh and can’t forget Elijah dying too??? What the f*ck? I’m sorry but I don’t think Julie dumb ass Plec should be allowed to “create” “write” “produce” or whatever.. anything else ever again. All that sacrificing to protect Hope just for them to treat her like some weak ass side character on Legacies? LMAOOO but hey.. at least my girls Freya (she truly deserved) and Beks got a happy ending?? Sn: bc one of the comments I just realized Elijah whole sire line died too. I guess davina unlinking Klaus line did come in handy after all. :rolling_eyes:
omggggg! I was crying throughout this episode! what a finale ;( very heartbreaking one. Klaus's journey was a very interesting one from TVD to TO it was beautiful, lovely, i hated him in some! but this last one and how they connected them both and gave us this fascinating story of Klaus and his always & forever family, especially Elijah. i felt connected to elijah in some ways and he the one who really made me break in tears! i don't think i'm getting over this episode. not any time soon!! thank you to THE CW and the cast of this wonderful show. we super thank you!!
so in the end, it pretty much ended like the vampire diaries. Just kill off a bunch of major characters because it’s the series finale. I’m so done with Julie Plec and I won’t be watching any other of her shows that always turn crappy after a couple of seasons. The Legacies will probably end with Hope and everyone else dying too. So predictable.
What a beautiful ending to a show that surpassed the show it spun off from. I was glad I didn't watch this episode on the commute cause it was already quite difficult to keep my composure at home. Klaus and Elijah, even Rebekah will be missed (Kol not so much).
Congrats to the actors and writers and may they find equal or higher levels of achievement in their future project. I unfortunately will not be watching another teen-magic-school drama-show with the leftover cast.
PS So do all the vamps they sired die now too?

It was a beautiful episode that made me absolutely ugly cry because we wont get to see anymore of this amazing family. But I'm not happy with the endgame decisions whatsover. In my mind, the endings were completely different and I'll leave it at that, and pretend this episode didnt happen. But thank you Julie for allowing us to get to know these characters. Klaus is probably the best written character in any tv show; and Joseph Morgan was impeccable in his role.
