8.7/10. This is probably the peak of those Venture Bros. episodes where I spend the first half wondering what the hell is going on and where they're going with all this, and the second half figuring it out and kind of loving it. I still don't know how to rate those sorts of episodes, but this episode is filled with great little reveals and realizations. The bold move of the unexplained non-linear timeline just made the jokes funnier once they came into place. Mixing up the story of Brock's recovery from the exploding Monarch car with the Ventures, particularly the boys, coping without him, and telling it all out of order, threw me for a loop at first, but I ended up really appreciating it by the end.
And all the little things that crystalized by the end of the episode! The whole HItler-dog clone scheme (with Dean being unable to use Orpheus's magical knife!) replete with an Indiana Jones riff! Hank basically treating Sargeant Hatred like the new stepdad he can't accept! HELPeR as Brock's Iron Man chest monitor! The whole Sphinx twist with Gathers! Number 21 trying to revive Number 24! Just so many little moments that end up comming together in this weird interconnected moment episode. I suppose I'm a sucker when show's get ambitious with the format, but this one really worked for me by the time it was done.
