I used to love this show but now I am extremely bored with it...
This show has certainly been going downhill for a while now. Im not sure what season 7 can bring to the table that we havent seen before in previous seasons. But one thing is for sure, the show has grown tired and predictable at this point and for one just dont care anymore... Just let it end already..
God, I already miss Nelsan Ellis so much. Thank you for this amazing character that you brought to life. Rest in Peace.
I really tried to give this a chance because I think American Beauty and Six Feet Under are both works of genius. This show is godawful though. It is so corny and predictable, full of cliches. It is never suspenseful or funny or anything other than disappointing. The acting is really bad. I was rolling my eyes every five minutes. I watched almost the entire first season hoping it would get better but it was hopeless.

3 Thoughts After Completing ‘True Blood’ (again):
This is not a perfect show by any means — few rarely are — but this is one of THE best vampire mythologies / worlds that ever existed in entertainment, right up there with Anne Rice and Buffy. They all got the rules right.
This is also one of the best ensemble casts, ever, on television. I can’t agree that some characters had the best arcs or went in the best directions (i.e. Tara), but they were still a helluva lot of fun to watch and they got us through some of the show’s weaker seasons.
I believe that mine is not the most popular opinion, but I felt that True Blood ended super strong. The final season is fantastic and, as for the finale itself, I couldn’t imagine the series ending any other way. It all came full circle in my eyes.

Tara is quite possibly the most annoying character in this. Over acting and constantly shouting or moaning about something. Twice they could have got rid of her and kept her in.

HBO's pisstake of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Mostly just a hot mess with an awful script.
This is a unique show to me as I watched it while it was airing, and I craved watching it again. It does a weird balancing act of horror, romance, grit, sexuality, and cheese that just really works for me. Is the plot a bit sloppy as the story progresses? Abso-freaking-lutely. But i adore the characters, character development. And after hearing that it was renewed for a spin-off after nearly a decade, I am beyond overjoyed. With that being said, I definitely WILL NOT be for everybody. And that is more than fine! However, if you are into vampires and whatnot, you should check it out to see if it is something for you.

from memory: 7-8/10 for the first 3 seasons (or so), the rest was... fake blood.
The show is nice but Paquin and Moyer are just not good actors for this - their acting seemed to be very unnatural and annoying. Also, I didn't like the camera work in the first episodes - very few and repetitive techniques.
Currently, I am at S04, and the plot getting worse and worse which is pretty common for TV shows that consist of too many seasons. Not sure if I want to continue watching it.

The first season is fantastic. The last season is quite forgettable and disappointing.
I didn't watch the last episode...saving it -- to get that last cookie satisfaction (please, remind me of which '80's comedienne made that a quote).
Anyway, I'm watching the last four. I'm remembering how I like to cry watching the relationships. I'm surprised this ended six years ago.

The love story of Sookie and Bill was emotionally most satisfying in the first season...how I enjoyed crying when they'd make love ! I don't know how it'll end, but I'm enjoying their re-visiting their love in these last episodes.... I'm just one of Pavlov's Dogs -- that process of association: Vampire Bill alone with Sookie, AND THAT BACKGROUND MUSIC (!)...it just all comes back...exquisite.

It used to be one of my favorites series back then, the ending was so-so though
Been watching this with a friend after I told them I had never watched it. For campy entertainment sure, it's fun. There are some witty jokes here and there. My big issue with it is ALL the rape (and yes that includes Jason's) as a plot device and the way it just glosses over it. I also really felt disgusted at the writing regarding Jason's suffering at the hands of crazy werepanthers basically implying he deserved to be raped. That is total crap and pretty offensive to rape survivors. And while I know it's just a show, they could have handled it a lot better or just not used it at all to carry the story.
I really enjoyed the first seasons but it gradually became less and less interesting so by the time it ended, it was really done. Sookie is a very annoying character in my opinion and it wasn't until the very end that I found some love toward her. The vampires on the other hand are so cool, Eric, Pam and LaFayette bring a lot of fun to the story.

Oh i'll have to give it a 4 star after the Finale season, season 1 to 6 loved, packed full of blood, sex sex and more blood and sex and of course comedy, but season 7 i really didnt enjoy, all it that really happened was the main characters dieing, Bill back to feeling sorry for himself, i liked him better when he just killed people. I think the only thing i laughed about was Ginger finally getting her 1 minute with Eric, that was just entertaining. I think maybe i was disappointed with the last season because its the last season, nobody wants their favourite to end.

I still hope sookie end up with eric but with this being the final season looks like no chance. She will probably end up with bill in the end and cheat on alcide or dump him fast.

The last few seasons have been pretty crazy and disappointing compared to the first few seasons.. It would be nice if they get back to the vampires with maybe a few wolves thrown in and leave it at that.
When it came out, True Blood was one of the best shows on TV. I still believe that the first 2 seasons are fucking fang-tastic (sorry).
But then it disappeared up its own ass with the constant creatures and rotating relationships, had an excess of useless characters that they refused to kill off and don't even get me started on Sookie.

This show has somehow managed to be dramatic, suspenseful and funny! I enjoy the humor most of all.
Sookie's love life is a fucking mess, though. It's becoming cringey. (Confession: I cheered when Sookie got bitch slapped in the 6th season.)
There is also a bit too much fucking going on but... that could be jealousy talking. ;)
I'm loving the show so far and hoping the 7th season will be great as well!
Season 6 was very boring. Use to love this show but this year they sucked badly.

I don't know what all these other whiny bitches are complaining about but I love this show and have enjoyed all seasons. Once the initial excitement for something "new" wore off the show got comfortable in its mythology and got more exciting and fun. Some people just can't be satisfied no matter how great the show is.
