My heart is breaking when I think about this movie and I'm so confused. I loved all the books. Eragon was my first love when I was a kid and I remember being happy to see the movie. (I've read all the books and even finish a game on my Playstation back in the days.) It has premiere on my birthday in Prague and I went there happy I will finally see it in a movie and altought I liked it as a kid (because I was just blinded by it being in movie), everytime I watch it I felt sad. I'm sad they did such a bad job and didn't keep up with a book so it basically impossible to shoot the other books. It had so much potential as a book but because the movie adaptation was so bad it just didn't get the fame as it deserves. When I re-read the books again I was surprised how much deep thoughts it contains. It's such a shame.
I was sceptical to watch this movie. Don’t get me wrong, of course, I like DiCaprio but I didn’t want to watch it until I read the book. I read it and still in awe after reading it I watched the movie and gladly accepted Leonardo as Mr. Gatsby. And fell in love with the character over again.
To be honest I was quite bored in some parts of the movie but it was the same with the book. And the movie is absolutely great adaptation of the book which is not usual.
The movie is just like the book and nothing more or less.
Oh and there's a great soundtrack too!
Whoever says this movie is “just set of random music clips” and “doesn’t make sense” just didn’t get it at all. It is true that it needs a bit thinking but the storyline is actually why I felt so much for the album. The story is so intense I still have goosebumps after watching it for at least 30 times.
It is a story Roger Waters know very well. Rock star who start thinking about his whole existence who is filled up with his own tragedy and our consumerism a fanatism.
It’s about building walls from young age (first wall - father dies at war, war as a tragedy of humankind, fighting for nothing; overprotective mother - another wall; school etc.) he’s building walls and it makes him lonely and miserable until he becomes a new person.
There are so many social, psychological and political problems discussed in this movie which are completed with absolutely perfect animatons by great artist - Gerards Scarf.
It is one of the best movies ever (in my opinion) and not only because of Pink Floyd. I think it’s not much Ponk Floyd as it is Roger Waters and you really don’t need to be a fan to understand this movie or to let this movie to touch your soul. If you’ll watch it closely it will catch your heart and twist it. And hopefully it will leave something in your mind
Ok, this movie is pure gold and let me tell you why.
If you expect horror - go for “psycho” not “american psycho”. This is rather dark comedy. If we got this straight let’s move on.
This movie is about a man who is basically product of his time in capitalist society in america and is (you guess that right) psycho.
He has a perfect routine but it’s just a facade he keeps since something inside him is missing. He needs to be the best and gets psychotic if he isn’t. Also he’s telling multiple times what he’s doing but he lives in a world where nobody’s listening they just see what they want to see. And everybody knows you but nobody remembers your face because they all are so full of themselves.
The movie is based on very controversial book which I also recommend if you want to get deeper altough they did amazing work with this movie. Everything is so good and cherry on top is a great actor’s performance.
Girl, interrupted is based on true events. When I first saw this movie in my teenage years, I loved it. I loved Lisa as a character and the overall feeling I’ve got while watching it. Now, few years later, I still love the dialogues but now I’m more focused on stunning Angelina’s performance as well as Viona’s. They are Acteress wit the capital A. Also the soundrack is amazing.
Enough been said about this movie being sp good but lets talk about amazing fashion and atmosphere this movie offers!
This is absolutely unique movie with great atmosphere and sountrack that collides perfectly with streets of Berlin. Lola rennt is great in its approach to every aspect of the movie. The editing is precious and I love how it captures the feeling of the city.
Also the first repetitive movie I don’t hate but actually love. Groundhog day is a nightmare for me. I hate these things but Lola here did great job! Also it’s all about butterfly efect but iˇfor me personally it’s a little bit better that the movie “Butterfly effect” since it’s less depressing and overall somehow more captivating.
