[7.2/10] Nice to get a little bit of Barry being Barry here. His wakeup call with Krieger and the plot detail that Barry (allegedly) needs special injections every 12 hours were interesting. And his bar fight with a Brando-esque biker to get some clothes had some nice action to it. Nothing super substantial, but good stuff.
Cyril was the other major focus here, and his part of the episode was okay. Him lighting his own pubic hair on fire was one of those weirdly exaggerated Archer things that worked well enough in the moment. Following him as he enacts a plan to get the million dollars to pay of Len Trexler was entertaining enough given his general incompetence and the way he gets shit from pretty much everyone else.
The funniest part of this episode was Eugene Mirman as Cheryl’s brother once again. Maybe it’s just that I’m used to hearing him play off H. Jon Benjamin, but his comic rhythms really work well for this show and I’m glad they brought him back. His conversations with both Archer and Cyril were quite funny. And Poovey continues to be a winning part of show, with her deadpan responses to Cyril in particular being comedy gold.
There were some fun running gags, including the roasted guinea pig and the continued hotdog eating. And the car chase was a little forced, though it was amusing that Archer’s subconscious brought back Seamus’s mom along with everyone else.
Overall, not a particularly strong episode, but solidly enjoyable throughout.
