There's no way they'd have wasted that much gas, if any, on burning something. With how rarely they have access to gas, and how useful it could be.
Small detail, but really bugged me.
Kinda funny though, it seems there were no practical effects for that scene, and they literally did light a bunch of gas, with how it ignited with a huge woosh, and spread further than necessary.
@alexnader My immediate thought was, "How are they gonna put out the fire??" The woods were right next to them, and I didn't see them bring anything else with them...
