For a good laugh pay close attention to every shot of Aubrey Plaza “playing” the drums, very fun stuff.
If I can't reach you, let my song teach you. Write a nice quote aside :joy: They brought back the dangerous but charismatic woman, hahaha! This episode was a bit juvenile but good. There is nothing to say about the acting, plot and effects. In this episode, we saw that art saves lives :joy: It seems like this road will end well. Who will wait for the next episode now, I can't wait. Agatha has someone she cares about. Is that boy her son? All kinds of questions in my head.
so close, yet so far
would they?
could they?
I liked the song part, I'm not used to seeing something like that in marvel, but I guess the characters deserve it....
It's known...
I just wanted a kiss...
I think he already told her whose son he is....
Aubrey is so sexy...
Thank you for not queerbaiting us Disney!
Another delightful episode. It looks and sounds terrific (costumes/music) and has less action but more character moments than previous episodes. Kathryn Hahn in particular delivered a whole range of emotions across several scenes. She is a force of nature.
8/10
Wasn't expecting a confirmation of being ex-lovers! Way to commit, Disney! I am loving this angst and tension!
The gang and cast chemistry has come together nicely. When the ballad stepped up a notch and it was all Alice with the flames behind her? Goosebumps. This show is bedding in very well!
Also Aubrey Plaza is just an absolute delight. Her and Hahn in playing in one show (again) is just fantastic.
I love this house already.
Also totally called it with the “black heart”. And look how similarly styled Agatha and Rio are! This be no coinci-dance.
“Stop phoning it in! Play like a witch!”
Great song, great magicks.
The way Agatha reacts to Teen’s … accident, suggests she knows deep down who he is (as heavily foreshadowed earlier — unless that was leading us down a cul de sac). “You don’t have to know someone’s name to know who they are” hmmm…
Great character development in this one. Important bonding.
When the metronome started ticking and the screen split into three panels, was that a deliberate 24 reference or just a happy coincidence? I laughed out loud, either way.
I loved how, during the ballad, every time the camera cut to Lilia she was playing a different instrument - those tiny cymbals, a triangle, a tambourine, maracas, and one or two others I think. It was a great sight gag during an otherwise serious scene.
"That boy isn't yours"... Interesting comment.
The episode has some really good moments, but it also falls short in certain areas, especially when it comes to pacing and character development. The opening scenes feel more like a warm-up than a continuation of the plot, with Sharon’s funeral seeming like just a distraction. The show tries to justify this “lost” time by bringing in Rio, but it’s clear that much of the start was pure filler until that point. There’s a lack of urgency or real progress in the story. After the events of the previous episode, the characters feel like they’re just waiting for something to happen, which slows down the momentum that should be picking up.
At least Rio’s return gives the episode a bit of energy. Her introduction is fun, but it’s also obvious that her arrival is more of a narrative device than genuine progress. The dynamic between Rio and the rest of the coven makes things more interesting, especially when it comes to her ambiguous relationship with Agatha. The show attempts to bring in queer representation in a subtle way, which kind of works. But it’s hard not to feel like the story is still hesitating to fully commit to that angle, especially in a universe like the MCU, which tends to be more explicit and direct with its themes. The tension between Agatha and Rio, for instance, is really noticeable, but the show seems undecided on how far it wants to take that relationship.
The problem is that with so many characters and a central mystery that still hasn’t fully developed, some moments that should feel significant end up coming off as shallow. Alice, who should be the focus of the episode with her family connection and curse, gets pushed to the background while Agatha and Rio dominate the screen. I feel like Alice had the potential for more depth, but her personal story gets sidelined in favor of visually cool scenes and dialogue that don’t add much to the narrative.
Overall, the episode is a bit of a rollercoaster. It delivers great visual sequences and moments of tension, but it fails to fully use its screen time to dig deeper. The show still relies too much on a repetitive structure – like using the “Ballad of the Witches’ Road” for the second time as a climax – and risks becoming stale if it keeps going down this path.
I like how the aspect ratio shifts when they enter the houses, but the whole show should be that aspect rario (so should all streaming shows in general theyre made for tvs for god sake)
Aubrey Plaza is great as always, she was the main reason I gave this show a watch I was pretty disappointed she was hardly in it until now.
i love old women yuri
Such a predictable show: Aubrey Plaza stealing every scene she's in... And I love it!
They did just use THAT South Park joke?:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
I would rather have no CGI than bad CGI. Marvel, stop doing that. What the fuck is that Curse?
I keep going back and forth on the Teen, at least, it is not going to be a twist either way. Which in hindsight is a good decision. I wasn't expecting that writers were going to draw attention to the possibility of him being her son in the last episode. And in this one they already implying that he is Wanda's son ... well, he isn't Agatha's son and let just leave it that.
Last episode was better shot and structured, but I love that we already going deeper into the characters and group's dynamic. Plus, characters seems to "learn on their mistakes" mechanically and otherwise.
p.s. I find it funny how moment of censorship was written into character's motivation aka good thing they stopped, but I feel like it was 100% for the bigots sake.
Awe I'm starting to like these girls. Also YAY its gay for real!
I am so in love with this show, with Agatha, with Kathryn Hahn!
Didn't love this one as much and least fav episode of the season so far. Still enjoyable though. The song was great but everything leading up to it felt plodding.
As someone mentioned, we've now seen two episodes back-to-back of trials, and in 4 episodes, the climax of 2 episodes has been the Witches Road song. Might be time to mix it up again next episode or things are going to get stale quick.
Skipped past all the shit/fake music playing and the episode was still utter shit.
Plots based around music are good. Give the costume designer a raise, or an Emmy. Teen looked like Bill Nelson (Be Bop Deluxe).

Confirmed ex-lovers! Thank you so much Marvel for not queerbaiting, I must confess that I did not trust you AT ALL
