Who knew mariachi would make good fighting music :joy:
That green screen on the car, that coincidence near the garbage, that naked man swimming, that story created from one line in karate kid 3!! All these plot shortcuts are forgiven once the credit song hits. So happy they are back
Good start to the season, if a little overly dour outside some moments in the Mexico thread. Curious how this will all play out.
Well not bad the scene with Miguel and his Father was great.
Hell yeah the nusdist is now in cobra kai ^^
5x01 - Long, Long Way From Home: 7.0/10 (Good, It Gets the Job Done)
It's been a long wait, but Cobra Kai is finally back! Continuing on from last season, Johnny is heading to Mexico in search of Miguel, accompanied by Robby, who is under the impression that they are on a father-son bonding trip. But Robby soon realizes it isn't, and he confronts Johnny about it; Johnny gives a good talk about how he's let too many people down in his life, and from now on he wants no regrets, and even offers Robby to go back if he so chooses; however, Robby eventually comes around, and they both choose to stay and keep looking for Miguel.
Back at home, under Terry Silver's leadership, Cobra Kai is more powerful than ever. LaRusso is struggling to manage his family life and safeguarding the kids while simultaneously trying to put an end to Cobra Kai for good. LaRusso has made the tough decision to close the Miyagi-Do dojo, but he hasn't given up hope. Together, he and Chozen are planning to take down Cobra Kai from within.
Meanwhile, Miguel is grieving and wandering around Mexico looking for his father. He makes some rash decisions along the way. There's a hint of relief and joy on Miguel's face as he realizes he's found the person he's been searching for, but he still has to figure out how to break the news—or maybe he doesn't. As time goes on, he might come to realize that Johnny is already there to serve as the genuine father figure he's always wanted. Overall, it's a strong opener for the new season, delivering more of the same flavour of Cobra Kai that fans have come to love.
Listen, asshole, you have five seconds to tell me which way that kid went, or I'm gonna take that surfboard and shove it so far up your ass your friends are gonna be surfing you.” ~ Johnny Lawrence
Meh the Mexican plot feels quite mediocre and I'm not sure where it's headed
Quite some expensive Cobra Kai advertisement at the beginning but I guess one should expect nothing less. Quite some $$$ equipment too. And Terry Silver was smart enough to include topics like organic food and female champions as well. One can't really blame any outsiders who will join Cobra Kai due to this ad... :o
Chozen is quite funny just being his normal self :D
"Welcome to Mexico." What a welcome by that Australian guy... I hoped right away that Johnny will arrive there later as he will obviously not pay them :D
It's awesome that Robby joined Johnny for the trip. I was super confused why he said yes though - until it became clear that Johnny didn't tell him about Miguel... At least Robby reacted quite calmly :) I really like that Robby decided to stay with Johnny. It's really about time that they get to spend some time together and start bonding!
Did Miguel really meet the right Hector Salazar now? That guy seems way too kind...
Deception, no honor, no mercy - that really describes the Cobra Kai style (of Kreese/Silver) well!
Chozen as undercover sensei could be absolutely great :D
This episode really highlights Ralph Macchio's AMAZING acting ability..... said nobody ever.
If I never see Mary Mouser in anything else after this series ends... I'll die a happy man.

What a disappointment. Who the hell "Disneyfied" this season... They've turned a great show into Disney shit.
