Even though no one in the Night's Watch except for Jon actually believes Sam killed a wight with dragonglass, if they'd stopped to think about how much more confidence he has now that he's been North of the wall, seen and survived awful shit, he's a lot less submissive and terrified than before.
Welp, Mance wasn't lying about the largest bonfire the North has ever seen. Janos Slynt being a cunt on the Wall while never facing anything like this before is hardly surprising. He was a coward in King's Landing even when he was the top cop, and he's an even bigger bitch now that he's learning all the myths about what's North of the Wall were more than myths.
A shocking amount of deference from Thorne. He's always been a cunt, always hated Jon, but he did always care about the Night's Watch and his responsibilities. Now that he's seeing that Jon wasn't exaggerating, he can't help but admit he was very wrong.
Yeah, Sam, get some! "Promise me you won't die." Fucking Team America ruined this wonderful moment for me.
Man, that shot of the torches popping up out of the trees as the bonfire blazes behind them is awesome! "Look, Lord Snow, oliphants." That one shouting wildling on the ground on the other side of the wall finally eating an arrow was hilarious. The giants are fucking OP in this show; that one shot a guy off and over the fucking Wall with his arrow. Hobb's got the cleaver, and he's about ready to make some wildlings scream, "Yes, chef!"
RIP, Pyp. For how much of a bastard Thorne is, he ran straight for the toughest son of a bitch North of the Wall: Tormund Giantsbane. The sound effect of those falling barrels is so great. My first thought when Jon put Edd in charge was, "wait, what scythe?" That question was soon answered, and it was glorious! Tormund living his best life while butchering Night's Watchmen is hilarious. You can tell he's been dreaming of this moment for a long time, and he's savoring every second of it. Wow, getting your face smashed into an anvil doesn't look as funny when it's not Wil E. Coyote getting hurt. Never underestimate a blacksmith's ball peen hammer as a last minute tactical weapon.
"Jon Snow, do you remember that cave? We should've stayed in that cave."
"We'll go back there."
"You know nothing, Jon Snow."
Damn, this show was so good at making me love characters that were only in it for a handful of episodes. Rose Leslie played Ygritte in 17 episodes over three seasons. Like Pedro Pascal (7 episodes only for this season), it's incredible that a smaller character can have such an impact on the legacy of show this big.
Grenn, you beautiful son of a bitch, Jon Snow said make one man feel like 100, but all it took was 6 to take down a fucking giant. He and the rest held the gate. Man, that fucking outer gate was warped to hell from the giants trying to pull it down, but it still opened without issue; I once accidentally slammed my car door into a light pole, and that damn thing barely worked at all anymore.

This is probably my favourite battle sequence of the show. The Battle of the Bastards was amazing, and so was the Battle of the Blackwater, but this one kept me on the edge of my seat for every second of it. One thing I really loved about this one is that I was never entirely sure who I wanted to win. I mean obviously I wanted the Night's Watch boys to survive, but I also understood why the Wildlings were doing what they were doing. I also hated Thorne and janos slynt so...
Another emblematic episode. I am fascinated with the details of this battle of the Wall. Incredible soundtrack. Everything worked perfectly.
I'm sorry about Pyp. He didn't have much importance, but I liked him. And I'm sorry for Ygritte... She was living in conflict. If she had no feelings for Jon Snow, perhaps she wouldn't have died there.
Well, I guess I'm the only one who didn't find this penultimate episode as exciting as the previous 3 ones. I did like all the intimate one on one scenes, though.
Absolutely amazing episode, the battle was stunning and the Jon's final goodbye to Yygritte was incredibly moving.

Amazing episode, the battle was breath-taking, and there were also quite moving scenes, such as the ones with Sam and Gilly (one of my favourite characters) and Jon's goodbye to Ygritte was really tear-jerking.
Why was Alliser surprised that the Wildlings were attacking from the South when that was exactly what Jon had told him they'd do?
This episode is litterally Crows v Wildlings.
The best episode of this show. Violent. Drammatic. Fantastic.

Pretty sure this is the first episode that’s told from just one perspective. Was a good battle and some sad deaths. Sad deaths aren’t even a spoiler with this show as it’s just expected.
