Zoe's had a few moments in the last few episodes where her emotional reactions have rang true, and that draws me in & helps me empathize at a deeper level.
I mean, it's been my superpower to feel deeply what a character onscreen, "should," be feeling even when they obviously aren't :joy:, but it is nice when they also appear to be feeling it deeply, like when Lemon responded to Zoe's stated desire to pass down something from her family by helping her realize that dream. I could be more succinct but that exchange, and Zoe's reaction, took this ep from a seven to an eight emotionally for me. And, I love how they made it an especially ugly duckling by making it's bill red and disproportionately huge.
