Cool to see Bear trying out a more intellectual approach to wild life. The season has an amateur feeling to it throughout all the episodes because clearly Bear hasnt done anything like this before, and clearly it has not been a big focus in his earlier life. It would seem he thinks the word "nuclear" is pronounced "nucilar" at least two times through this season, which doesnt exactly bring the amateur feeling down. Couple this with empirical facts being given in non SI-units and you really get a youtube/local feeling to the whole series, as if the producers thought it would only be aired in Britain or something. This gets extremely frustrating many times. Im also pretty sure one of the scenes with him was greenscreened... Not that it really matters alot, we all know most of the Man vs Wild was staged scenes, but it never meant that what he did and showed wasnt real and potentially life saving. It only meant he didnt actually do the whole "course" of the trip, contrary to what many was under the impression of and expected of him. Because of these expectations/impressions I think many wrongfully concluded him being a "fraud" many years ago, though he wasnt. Nevertheless, the video captured is of higly professional standard and does in no way bring the series down. And apart from the aforementioned things Id say Bear still manages to narrate it more or less graciously, especially considering hes very unexperienced when it comes to this type of approach to wildlife/enviroment. Its definitely worth watching for any wildlife enthusiast as well as most people generally interested in animals. Hope to see a second season!
