I’ve got to admit, being plagued by those little biting flies would drive me absolutely bananas so I don’t blame the woman for tapping out.

The phenomenon she describes is classic sleep paralysis, and the spirit/demon is a dream, thus the paralysis. Wake up, demons don't exist people!
