Season 2 1991 - 1992

It’s the school dance, but after floating Brian a loan for his rent from the ticket money, Jennifer can’t afford the band. Meanwhile, Nicole takes her sorrows out at the bottom of a bottle.

Karine’s taste for drugs begins to lead her down a dangerous path. Maria and Jason are looking towards the future, but they both have different visions of what that is. Peter is torn between Helen and Nicole.

Jennifer is dating Tim and things are going well, but her best friend Maria is tense, fearing she might be pregnant. Jason and Maria have to get serious in a hurry.

It’s Brian birthday and he talks Kirk into covering for him at the Oasis while he and his Dad have a nostalgic outing. The gang throws a surprise party for him at Jason’s place. Helen catches Peter with Nicole.

Jason’s Mom invites him and his Dad to a family dinner, and Debbie works towards making it reconciliation. Tim has a big date lined up with Jennifer, but her excitement is tempered by his pressure to take their relationship to the next level.

It is soon Jennifer’s big date with Tim. She and Maria go shopping for just the right outfit. Jennifer’s Dad, meanwhile, is opposed to her dating and Jennifer has to lie about where’s she’s going. It doesn’t go well.

Maria can't seem to get through to a withdrawn Jennifer; Debbie tricks her parents into a rendezvous; Nicole learns that Peter has dumped her for Helen; Karin meets Cindy's drug supplier.

Karin is caught shoplifting, and Peter figures out where the money is going. When she meets her drug dealer she realizes what the ultimate price might be. Tim surprises Jennifer by showing up at the nursery. Jennifer finally confesses the rape to Maria.

Kirk’s grandmother has a medical emergency. Karin’s dealer sends her on a drug delivery to help repay her debt, making her late for her probation hearing. Maria continues to try and get Jennifer to talk to her mom about Tim.

Michael asks out "Sure Thing" Sheena. Karin realizes that Cindy prostitutes herself to be able to pay for her drugs. Jason tells Brian about what happened to Jennifer after Maria spills the beans.

Maria feels like her life is falling apart when Jennifer shuts her out for exposing her secret. Her mother hits the roof over her plans to vacation with Jason. Karin tries to kick her habit. Maria helps Kirk with his homework.

Karin faces a shoplifting charge and the prospect of staying off drugs; Jason and Maria face the possibility of life without each other; and Jennifer faces up to her father blaming her for the attack on her.

Karin's father catches her using cocaine and throws her out of the house; Jennifer goes to a psychologist to learn to deal with her feelings about the assault; Jason and Maria's breakup spells the end of their band.

Jennifer goes to see a psychiatrist about the nightmares she's been having since the assault.

Cindy sets up Bill but Karin also ends up in jail; Jason and Maria reunite just in time for the band contest--and announce their impending nuptials.

Shocked by Cindy's death, Karin enters a drug rehab program; a tragic event mars Jason and Maria's celebration of their graduation and impending marriage, changing both of their lives forever.
