One of Us Is Lying 2021

I don't understand why people do this. This had a awful rating months before the pilot aired.

Anyway I liked it, reminded me a lot of the 80's type of Teenager movies. It seems to be a mix of "Breakfast club" meets "I know what you did last summer".

Give this one a watch and see if you are entertained.

I almost didn't watch this because having read the book and already knowing how it ends I just thought I'd find this unentertaining but in fact it was the exact opposite. This show brought a whole new set of intrigue to the plot and the characters, I think the cast were picked really well and I enjoyed my time watching this.

Boring as hell. I don't recommend at all.

First of all I have to start by saying I’m a librarian, so recently a lot of people have been requesting the book “One of Us is Lying” - when I saw it’s release on Netflix I had to see what that hype was all about.

I really, really liked it. The secrets aren’t that “bad”, but to a teen they can destroy their reputation, so that’s the focus throughout the season. The acting could be better BUT to be honest, it was pretty convincing and made me stick to it until the very end. I had a few suspicions at the beginning and in the end I was surprised how everything turned out.

Looking foward the second season!!

I was thinking the TV show boring, but I was curious about the end of it.

Ok but actors and story is not the best nothing compared to Euphoria and Dare me...

This was pretty good. Better than I was expecting. It's kind of a mix between The Breakfast Club and 13 Reasons Why. There were several suspects I suspected that turned out to be red herrings, and the actual bad guy was a surprise.

S1: It was difficult for me to watch the series because I wanted to read the book first but I couldn't find the time to do so. The book was good so I assumed the series would be similar. To my surprise there are quite a few changes between the series and the book, although the basics remain the same. It's entertaining to spend a few hours, but don't expect something very elaborate, it's just a series for teenagers.

I'll be reading the second book and watching the second season, so I will update.

It's not without it's problems, but I enjoyed it more than I expected I would.

Although they did make some effort to flesh them out, the characters are all the usual cardboard cut-out clichés (the cheerleader, the jock, etc.). And the whole mystery isn't that thought through. But still, it kept me constantly engaged, and I easily watched the whole season in one go.

As one of the first few Peacock exclusives, there was some big hopes for a foundational show. This doesn't quite hit that, but it does provide a decent enough show in the same realm as the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" movies or "Riverdale". The premise in itself is engaging and easy to draw people in, but the overall execution was not as good as its counterparts.

Average Season Review: 7/10

Recommendation: Skip (For High School Thriller Fans)

I loved this so much, one of the few misterys I didn’t see coming! I also loved the diversity and inclusivity a lot! Everyone is represented! Loved loved loved it!

Feels like a really boring episode of the original Gossip Girl.
