Eliza Dushku stars in the Fox supernatural drama Tru Calling. In Season 1 aspiring med student Tru Davis takes a job at the city morgue and discovers that she has the ability to hear the dead, and when they ask her for her help her day repeats, giving her a chance to save them. Co-staring Zach Galifianakis, AJ Cook, and Jason Priestley, the show has a pretty good cast. And a number of interesting guest stars are featured, including Cobie Smulders, Kal Penn, Christina Hendricks, Jodi Lyn O’Keefe, and Jeffery Dean Morgan. Additionally, the writers do an impressive job at varying the types of death and ways for the person to be saved; which keeps the show from getting too repetitive. They also create an interesting mythology concerning the rules and balances that must be maintained when interfering in matters of life and death. It still has a few kinks to work out, but Tru Calling delivers a solid first season.
