I think this movie has one of the most remarkable scenes of Brazilian cinema: a car descending from a building on a crane with Roberto Carlos inside. Amazing!
As a trekker, I saw it on the theaters, than I bought the Bluray for my collection but I still didn't watch it again. They destroyed the Enterprise in the worst way. It was a defeat, something completely different from what I expect from the Captain James T. Kirk, the man who past in the Kobayashi Maru test, the man that never accepted loss
My reaction watching this episode: "O my God! this is too much of a cliche... oh my God, there are more cliche... oh my God, there is cliche all over it!"
This history probably would not be so compelling without the amazing direction and acting. Its a social critic, with some cliches, to be fair, but, still, very well constructed.
When I saw it on the 3D Cinema I thought that it was the best movie I have ever saw. When I saw it in bluray I discover that some of the amazing 3D scenes are boring in 2D and, paying more attention to the script, I tought it's kind of a "meh". This movie could have been shorter too.
Looking only for the technical features as art direction, cinematography and special fx, this movie is impeccable! It probably has the most amazing scnenes of light saber and space fights in the inteire franchise. When you pay attention to the script, the movie is kind of "meh".
When I watched this movie first I didn't like it too much. But, with time this movie really growed on me. If you see It as a low budget, low expectation movie, you may have a good experience wathing it.
