Absolutely amazing! This show is beautiful
This was a truly phenomenal shark movie, 10/10
They called Elder Toguro "younger toguro" multiple times, which was annoying. Good fights tho
NGL the first movie was far better, but this one was fun enough. Surprisingly I didn't mind the farming montage - I love a "let's prepare for battle" moment
The felt stop motion credits are so cute!
I really enjoyed the manga and am looking forward to seeing where the adaptation goes - it was wonderfully creepy!
why would they sing, loudly, when they know they are trespassing and there are armed soldiers nearby?? some seriously stupid writing in this episode. I guess all we learned is that her mom sorta knew about the affair (tbh I was hoping she was in Monarch, so that was a bummer) and that the maps the kids keep ripping off walls willy-nilly are important. who would have guessed
I honestly don't feel like we need the backstory romance for these characters... so far the only timeline I really like is OG Monarch, with Wyatt Russell, which this episode was sadly lacking. Kurt Russell is doing fine with what he's been given but this show has far fewer monsters than the title led me to believe. I still don't get why they needed to make Monarch a shadowy "evil" organization either - the plot could have followed the kids' recruitment rather than this oddly aggressive treatment they and Lee Shaw have been dealt.
Kurt Russell is great, as is his son - their character is the best with the grandma badass scientist being a close second. as someone else said, it's going to really bug me that they are pretending he is over 90 years old -- he just doesn't look that old, and he's way to agile. also -- more monsters would be amazing. right now they don't have much bite. we don't have any emotional reaction to the Bikini Atoll scene (we know from the movies that Godzilla is perfectly fine), so their reliance on that and this dramatic business with the two timing dad is getting a little old
so first thoughts - this feels like it should have been the first episode. it's odd watching it and already knowing that the badass researcher dies (quite horribly, eaten by giant insect hatchlings) seven years after she meets our cryptozoologist friend (who we already know she falls in love with) and that her new army frenemy becomes their bestie. the drama of that portion of the episode would have been more impactful if we didn't know their future.
additionally, I don't think their dad is dead. he's definitely on some sort of mission... he either is high up in monarch or he is their number 1 enemy after the deaths of his parents (I'm assuming his dad also died in a monster-related incident).
I'm curious who Cate's mom is. voiceless people like that who keep getting brought up in vague ways tend to be quite important later on. it'd be great if she was high up in monarch, I guess we'll see
the survivors guilt she must have would be absolutely insane - the brief glimpses of Godzilla was really great
a great movie! I found the first two thirds to be the most effective, as anyone who hikes regularly can really relate to the growing terror of realizing something is very wrong when you are so far out - toward the end it got a little more "out there" but I still liked it overall
this is the first V/H/S/ I've seen and I'm not sure if I want to watch the others - the stories didn't feel entirely finished, and they were very focused on gore which is not always my favorite type of horror. I liked the rat man and the vampire though, because I do love a good monster
solidly scary! even when I knew the scares were coming I still jumped at those damn clowns
I really like how they tried to make Castle a little more sympathetic in this episode! He gave such playboy vibes in the first this added good layers
Harriet the spy is a great reference
alright I might like arastoo the most - gosh these interns are all great
Clark is absolutely hilarious in this episode - he's one of my favorite interns
This episode aged poorly, as many of the early topical episodes did - pronouns really aren't as hard as they made it out to be
I already love the rotating interns
This was a very stupid reason to break up but I don't know that I expected more from this show, honestly. Being mad that your boss slept with your ex does not mean that you still have feelings for said ex, it means your boss crossed a line between personal and professional and you are understandably upset about it. And the whole "you're the one who isn't stopping me" is just so annoying.
This episode reinforces that the soundtrack for this show is phenomenal
So glad to hear that this isn't cancelled anymore! Excited to hopefully see the next season this year, they ended on a great emotional note and I love the weekly haunted houses.
That ending actually made me jump, I can respect that
This movie was extremely frustrating. First thing, right off the bat -- this wasn't a date. It was a work dinner "double booked" for her boss, and she went instead. That was a contrived situation, of course, but this was never a blind date it was a work event. The main character constantly referring to it as a date was very confusing and her inability to explain her situation to characters she runs into later was enough to make me watch something else. Also her ex, hearing what she's been through, leaves her alone on the porch to convince his new girlfriend to let her in. What??? Everyone in this movie acted unrealistically, except the killer and the boss's wife.
This was... Rough. The actor who plays Jason is the best in the movie though
This was probably the cutest movie I've seen this year - I can't recommend enough! Also love that John Legend and Chrissy Teigen voiced the yoga freak neighbors; some prime casting. Even the credits are cute!
My only question is why the hell nurse pam was such a creep for the first three episodes. You'd think they'd encourage her not to threaten paralyzing, conscious surgery to the man that they've chosen to wake up??
Then again, they kidnapped hundreds of people. So they aren't exactly on the up and up
This was a truly fantastic movie
