they're right... blip is a funny word
"Spectacular" "Amazing" Really? It was alright. It felt like a webisode (remember those?) than a pilot.
I don't like that they are turning a mercenary villain into a good guy just to make the series more digestible.
I also don't see it as a positive when a series is like another series. Take Better Call Saul, for example. It's very much its own thing.
You know there is something wrong with a show when they do like they did in this episode and for some pathetic reason feel the need to blur out naked female parts of a statue, a statue! That has got to be a first, it's shameful.
Am I in the minority in enjoying Marcus's character? His one-track mind, naivete, and zeal for wanting to improve are all interesting characteristics. His mom being sick is kind of a cliche backstory, but I like that he is sort of an aimless wanderer trying to figure out his new role.
Very good start, getting you hooked in the narrative. I don’t think splitting the book character Wang Miao into 5 characters is a big problem. Although I fear that the oxford 5 might stay a little flat as characters.
lmao my girlie Daphne KNOWS
"My cousin Susan didn't realize she could sing until her 40s!" I don't know I thought this was so funny, but I did, ahahaha.
Don’t understand this one. Keona was pretty consistently good and won challenges. Got eliminated because her pork had a little char that even Ramsey said tasted good and yet she lost to someone who had no confidence, didn’t know if hers was cooked right, had a messy plate and had bland brussel sprouts. I don’t think Keona was neccessarily going to win, but she didn’t deserve elimination this episode.
And Holt is back!... Really, they need to put some more cases with Holt and Jake working together, was so funny and Gina was great, her entrance at the end was the best.
I had to check several times just to make sure I'm watching the same show
I added this show to my list but I don’t even know when. I found it last night and watched the entire first season in one sitting. I could not stop. I don’t recall that I have ever come across a show that has kept me so interested! From Part I to Part VIII, my attention barely wavered. I’m looking forward to the next few seasons, especially after reading the comments about the first few episodes of season 2!
Series finale. We already know what happened, it has been good, even though the husband has a John Snow face all the time. That only lasts 8 episodes is to be grateful, much
My favorite quote of the entire season: Second law of thermodynamics. Eventually, everything turns to shit.
I'm convinced none of you know what 'filler' actually means, this episode was a banger, not the best episode but a certified banger still. Got context for Lady Ochiba, more romance between Blackthorne & Mariko (their chemistry is actually very strong), more behind the scenes politics with the council and a great set up for 'Crimson Sky'. Another great episode!
How dare that church guy insinuate something like that?! What an a**hole!
when this show is over, someone should make a fan edit of the 10 episodes. it could be a fun 8 minutes.
"I can bury you deep or I can bury you shallow". Just when you think this show can't get any dumber, the writing any lamer or the acting any worse... Now all I want is for Kurt Russell to go full Captain Ron so there's some actual entertainment.
Captain Gates is a terrible leader, not very compassionate. She should have not let Beckett stay on this case knowing her history.
"When science gets icky, it's okay to be sicky" Advice to live by.
It just kind of strikes me as weird that seemingly everybody in this show seems to struggle with her pronouns. I don't mean in an offensive way, it's more like it's too hard of a concept for them to understand and that's just ... how? He is now a she. It's really not that complex.
Weirdest crossover i've seen
I know it's already become fairly cliche to compare any kind of virus-related thing to COVID in this past year, but you can't help it. Hearing the CDC guy say "we don't have the infrastructure to deal with this kind of thing" when looking at the infection spread model and it was like NOPE YOU SURE DON'T!
Speaking of which, Madagascar was left untouched in that infection simulation. Someone on the animation team played the Pandemic flash game, I take it.
'i can't show you everything, david' 'well can you show me ONE THING'
"I like the wine and not the label" - Still one of the best lines in the show.
nobody going to see lucas play made me so sad
I thought the mix of comedy and social commentary worked better here than in the premiere.
even though the story felt kind of forced, this is the best episode so far! going to miss pb&j. loving the car jamming session, it gave me a strong lonely island vibe
I'm not as down on this season as some, but this is the first ep this season where all storylines are firing on all cylinders. Haven't laughed this hard at any sit-com in a while like I did at the montage of Rosa listening stone-faced to Holt's love life, especially her murderous food chopping.
That might've been one of my favorite cold opens ever. "Maybe I don't have an arch nemesis because I solve all my crimes". It's a good thing Jake was at a police precinct because that was straight up murder.
