What in the holy heck of cinema did I just witness?
I saw C.H.U.D. 1 and really enjoyed myself, I was like oh there's a sequel that could be neat I guess.
I don't know how but this has the audacity to call itself a sequel. The only thing remotely connecting the films is the word C.H.U.D.
Somehow we managed to go from mutated underground cannibalistic cave dwellers to zombies that can talk, yet are about as intelligent as a tomato which is saying something for other zombie movies.
I don't know how Robert Vaughn got in on this, but at least he hams up his performance as an army general plus its great watching him fire an RPG into a diner blowing it to smithereens and cursing later on, so it has that going for it....................
Oh and the ending song was a little banger.
Oddly enough the killings that said zombies (I use that term because I cant classify what they are supposed to be, its like a comical version of return of the living dead, if you haven't seen you should at least the first 3, 4 and 5 go off the railroad but I digress) We don't really see the kill, we just hear this same repeated crunch sound, no real bite or blood even for a low budget movie.
The zombies even have trouble biting a room full of party goers in a slapstick way but then all run after one girl in a bathing suit who is setting a trap, like guys what are we doing here
To summarize, I guess if you want a ............ I pause because I'm struggling here. If you want a late night chill with friends and a good laugh or maybe a dedicated Robert Vaughn fan then this could be passable fun.
My advice for most stick to the first one and your golden.
First time seeing this. Its a bit of a slow burn and proceeds to stay that way.
I wasn't sure how the plot was going to unfold I assumed it was just I didn't see the whole demon at the end of the movie coming, I assumed it was just a fanatical kid gone off the rails and taken everyone else with him, so that surprised me, so props to that.
My initial reaction going in was oh Linda Hamilton, you kids are messing with Sarah Conor, but no she's not the warrior type in this one, funny enough Terminator came out 7 months after this film.
I don't want to say its dull, there is an air of mystery while you work out why these events have taken place, and the end does kick in a bit more, apparently the sequel is more entertaining than this one, but its worth at least a one off watch, as the plot is different plus its Stephen King so you know.
I had my doubts with this one looking at the poster, but the quick synopsis sounded neat.
All in all I'm glad I got around to this one I had a really good time with it. It helps we don't see the creatures except for their claws for a good amount of time which goes in their favor. When they are revealed yea sure the whole led light eyes looked goofy, their mouths and teeth did look neat (not the best but very passable)
The plot and the character's inc some of their actions towards events is pretty laughable and silly but you go with it.
The pacing is pretty relaxed until the tail end of the film, where the creatures come out and are attacking people in their homes, loads of police cars cording off the area, a government agent trying to cover the whole thing up and potentially fill the sewers full of gas not caring if he blows up half of New York, its just great fun.
I also got a kick out of seeing John Heard and Daniel Stern who I best know from the original home alone movies as Kevin's father and Marv one of the wet bandits, together in this film 6 years to that releasing which is pretty surreal, so I also got a kick out of that.
Pretty fun one for the Halloween season, you need to break up the serious with something like this every so often (still better than Halloween Ends, yea I'm never going to let that go.
This was gonna be a 3 star review but I enjoyed it more than Halloween Ends (check my review if your curious on that one)
Not that far into the movie I actually asked myself "Is this acting?" that question pretty much stayed for the entire runtime, and should be a good indicator of what your going into, bar a few exceptions. David Carradine did the whole menacing feel pretty well when he was on screen, Dick Miller I thought was wasted in this as well as Arte Johnson.
The thought of a horror filled who framed Roger Rabbit meets the Evil Dead. style movie should be a good sell, it just didn't hold water. The cartoon style demon only showed up for a few scenes which I expected to see more of it.
There is plenty of topless nudity on offer with Monique Gabrielle who looked quite stunning.
Overall a cool idea which disappointingly falls flat, would recommend if you want something a bit silly and deffo check it out if RiffTrax picks this up.
An interesting concept, overall as the film went on and wrapped up I left with an I expected more kind of feeling.
It's different, a bit weird but not the worst thing ever. I saw the twist at the mid way ish mark, although it didn't manifest until near the end, making me go "why didn't you bring or do this given the scenario you knew you were gonna be in and 2 "well that's that I guess, time for a cuppa"
I think it had a strong location, being in the middle of the forest, kind of like Evil Dead being very secluded, there was suspense and horror I feel it was turned way down lower than it could have been.
I watched this, so you don't have to.
The poster is a lie, this somehow managed to have the audacity to call itself a movie. Eric Roberts must have owed a big favor or lost a bet to feature in this ..... thing. 90% of this movie features foliage and dirt paths. In the first few minutes I was like is this even acting, we have people walking along paths, people out of frame walking, random people who seem to serve no purpose, bad cgi shark people that make an appearance like 3 times and some dubious alien plants. The only way I managed to get through it was riffing it with a friend, and believe me there's a lot to riff. Take from me, use this hour to do something else, anything else.
As @Greggy15 put it, a Goofy little Whoopi Goldberg movie.
I enjoyed the film, then again this is right up my street, intrigue and espionage with good humor. Watching as the situations get more and more out of hand leading to a final showdown.
The cast is pretty great as well, Annie Potts from ghostbusters with a small role. The unmistakable Carol Kane and Phil Hartman, Jim Belushi, Jonathan Price, the cast reads like a who's who of great actors.
I think this is the most socially awkward thing i have ever seen, having said that I love this show, its short and sweet with a lot of heart.
There are defiantly moments you feel for the character's, as well as other moments your pulling your hand down your face at the awkwardness on display. Its worth sitting through however as it leads this delightful tale of two hearts.
The cakes shown are also mouth watering master pieces, how do they manage it.
The ending Surprised and saddened me, I really thought after this build up that they were going to get together, however it was also nice to see them continue on as Patissier & Mademoiselle so I'm conflicted on the ending, I loved it, I just wish they could have got together.
A very different movie. Ok so this is a low budget VHS era sci-fi movie.
The film is ok, and that's about it. It's very bland of it's time, the gun looks cool though as well as the laser beam it emits.
Generally its had its day, can be skipped and you wont have missed much.
I had a feeling I would enjoy this one, clocking in at nearly 2 hours I set some time aside for this. I did enjoy the film, however it did feel like a weird one at times, in terms of pacing. It was like driving on a road where you slow down then you speed up then you slow down, I think that best describes it. For me I didn't mind too much, I can see not everyone enjoying that however.
The film boasts some stellar cast members, Dan Akroyd, and David Bowie, what! He was unmistakable and I instantly knew it was him, a very neat surprise for sure, not in a role I would have thought either, also have a cameo from Clu Gulager from night of the living dead.
The story does need a few to pick up the pace and get going, also worth mentioning in turn that "Jeff's" character Edd is very slow as well for the most part, its a you will adjust to him or not kind of situation. Its ridiculous at times, with cool cameos and a neat story with an 80s setting so that did it for me.
I also loved the little nod to Abbott and Costello meets Frankenstein with Bella Lugosi, as soon as i heard it in the background I was like I know that film.
As the French say Tre magnifique.
I loved it all, it made me laugh, it made me cry it engrossed me right to the finish line.
If you like your 80s spy thrillers with subtle yet sophisticated comedy then this is for you, the chemistry and comedic acting of Tom Conti and JoBeth Williams was great, in particular Tom's mannerisms and bewilderment had me howling with laughter at the situations JoBeth (Cathy Palmer aka Rebecca Ryan) was getting him into.
I could have honestly watched more, such a joy to watch, hopefully you think so too.
and the end credit music to top it off, this is the style.of movie I love.
VIP3An interesting one for sure, quite a slow burn. It tries to be kinky, it tries to be mysterious, maybe it tries too much.
The plot is hap-hazard, with unrealistic responses to situations that just happen and you end up going along with.
This could have gone a few other ways, and while I like the aesthetic and what it was trying to achieve, it falls flat.
For example when Annas husband comes in, while she's having phone sex, and writes It off, or when Anna has sex with her friend/acquaintance who lives down the street, like what is going on here.
Then we have the cop who keeps putting a gun in peoples faces with the whole tough guy routine overdone.
I won't even mention the orange, who would put an orange there, but hey ho.

A delightful 80s action, adventure romp.
The premise intrigued me for a watch and I ended up really enjoying this one.
Where our hero dDanny faces mishap after mishap trying to catch up to his girlfriend, only realized after looking at the info of a young Ben Stiller.

Back from seeing this today, I wasn't disappointed, lot's of humor that had me and my friend laughing, great little story and a new imposing villain.
In short this offers a faithful adaption to the franchise (Lest we forget a certain film) the OG cast are all back in what I can only describe as fun filled spooky action movie for the whole family to enjoy. You can really see the inspiration from the real ghostbusters coming into play here, being a more full on ghostbusters movie than afterlife.
I think the fans of the franchise will warm to this one (wink) as it does everything right in their, (my) eyes, while keeping it open and entertaining to newcomers. Pretty much like the sonic movies, take the family have a great time with it, which is what we have here. Despite initial critical reception, I know it's not Rachel Zegler proclaiming a timeless love story is weird, or a new shark-nado adaptation or even an African American led cast with a lord of the rings storyline guys but come on, this is at a the base level a good film, there's no arguing that.
There were some things that I could critique like the Phoebe randomly going to the park and meeting up with the ghost girl as you do for example.
the lore is also well fermented, with Ray now doing a show where people bring possessed or strange objects for him to detect any ethereal prescience's, which is something I can see him doing, while Winston handles the business side of things. We also have Peter being his ever usual self, and Janine suiting up with her own proton handheld.
Very much looking forward to a sequel, and where they can go now that the Gozerian era has ended and what new villains they can bring into the fray, the sky is the limit really, even if the OG cast do only appear for shorter stints.
the plot reminds me of a loose "Kind hearts and Coronets" style plot with Alec Guinness. One which I highly recommend.
This one being very different modern ish take however. Its an of it's time film you'd find on VHS, it's pretty silly but watchable.
Just keep your expectations low though, still nice to see Rick Moranis and Eric Idle as well as John Cleese as well as the beautiful Zeta Jones.

20 second in, "I can tell what film this is gonna be"
less than 5 mins in "I'm not sure I can sit though this, at least not without my friend to heckle it with." this coming from someone who has sat through the likes of space cop, Santa clause and the Easter bunny, heck even wizzo the clown (okay that last one might be a bit extreme)
there's lots of weird sound effects, silly humor that comes across like a struggling comedian giving a 1.5 out of 10 performance.
imagine if amateurs and school kids had free range on a movie set and you have the movie.
if your looking for a good camp movie and you've seen the majority wanting more skip this one, instead go watch camp hideout 2023, with Christopher Lloyd

I love these 80s style movies, this is one of the better ones.
A very fun 80s outing, there's comedy, espionage and chaos all the way.
Shelly Long and Bette Midler give a great pair of performances in this, it also features a few familiar faces, such as John Schuck who played Herman in the Munsters Today as well as Robert Prosky the judge from a Miracle on 34th Street.
Well worth a watch, had me smiling like only these 80s feel good capers can.
There is a movie in here ..... somewhere wedged between everything else.
I genuinely have to ask is this comedy?
going on looking at the synopsis the cast seemed pretty good, with the premise of a deranged madman holding the city ransom story.
The film has moments of lucidity but then goes wacky again, which makes it hard to take seriously.
The ending, just what? That was it? or was it? the end song is nice but yes ok then I don't know how to describe it, that's how they ended it.
I lack any justification to watch this one aside from the stars mentioned.
This gives comic farces a run for their money.
it's a film of it's time, there's lots of stupid in this weather you find it funny will vary. you'll know what type of film I mean within the first 5-10 minutes.
overall it's meh to ok, something you could have on in the background.
Does have a few notable people such as Sonny Bono and Nicolas Worth whom I've seen a few films in.
WARNING This show ends on a cliffhanger that will never resolve fully;
With that out of the way I really enjoyed this series, wasn't quite sure what to expect going in as it took me by surprise when I found it.
It remains a family friendly show though, no real blood or the like so unless your really into vampires, or great older shows this is one for younger teen era viewers.
3 kids and their grandfather battling a modern ish Dracula and multimillionaire tycoon who was played brilliantly by Geordie Johnson, the way he presents himself with his accent is great.
The show has lots of fun and eccentricity, with Dracula even battling Nosferatu, anti- Vampire laser guns and many others as well as the Helsing family from time to time.
I can't believe they cancelled it and left if on a cliffhanger episode why? We were robbed, It seemed like they were gonna change things up a bit for season 2 which is highly annoying.
I've seen a few of the sleepy hollows and I do enjoy them, I have a fond remembrance for the 1999 Canadian version as I recall watching that Moreso on DVD, and of course there's the animated classic.
I mean its sleepy hollow adaptation, so I need not go on there, its what you expect more or less, this one does its own thing here and there with a bit more hijinks.
I always enjoy Jeff Golblum and he was very entertaining in this one.
Its a bit more cooky than it is spooky tell the truth but I enjoyed it.
Not what I expected. I thought this was going to be another bit of low budget family fluff, it did surprise me somewhat.
It's still aimed for younger audiences...question mark. I'm just not sure what ages, the effects are cool but there are moments when I was like if I was a really young kid I would prob find this disturbing.
I would put it in the teens at least. There is no blood in the movie, as it's all green but yea deffo PG-13 I would say. The story is pretty neat for what it is, the acting wasn't terrible, so yea it can make for an enjoyable watch.
I saw the show for this many years ago with a school outing, and it was really cool. Only now getting around to watching this with Rick Moraniss though. I loved the fact Bill Murray, John Candy and Steve Martin are also in this, they were all great and it was a nice surprise when each popped up.
I also learned that it comes with 2 versions, I watched the directors cut and then I watched the Theatrical ending right after while it was still fresh.
I have to say I prefer the theatrical ending, here's my take why;
I think It works better tonally with the rest of the film and the lead up to the ending. The directors cut is full on and quite a change of pace but feels off to me. Don't get me wrong it was pretty cool, and over the top which I do like.
Comparing the two cuts it feels more off having an invasion montage that just dragged out the story, it has a runtime of about 23 extra mins after the murder scene, Seymour and Audrey seem almost just like a footnote. Sure seeing Audrey 2 invade the world was cool, but it was like I just switched channels to day of the Triffid's or war of the worlds, and we already know the outcome with the mini Audrey being made as well as Audrey's overall victory after the murders.
To me the film is pretty closed off for the most part people wise, you have about 4 main characters not including Audrey 2 who you invest with, and a few random people here and there and at the end your supposed to connect with character's we cant or don't care about it just adds nothing.
The theatrical is a really happy ending of sorts with a sinistiar Mini Audrey but it also provides us with an amazing villain line from Audrey 2 "Oh Shit!" just priceless
So for those reasons the theatrical is a much cleaner cut and works better for me with the story, again being more tonally correct, plus it does show the Mini Audrey in the garden which seems like that classic villain that has been killed but you know he will be back vibe as it dons its evil smile.
Genuine surprise to watch this one.
Was a bit skeptical of the Phantom of the Opera in a modern 80's setting, but the art, the plot and other comment by [email protected] piqued my interest.
It has that 80s aesthetic, horror, action vibe mixed together nicely, so if any of that is your thing then you'll surely find something to like about this one.
Also a few faces I recognized Pauly Shore and Morgan Fairchild and Ken Foree.
It's just a a lot of fun, activate the neon mood lighting and enjoy, one of those I wish I had watched sooner movies.

I've seen a lot of Warewofl Movies over the years, from the original Wolfman with Lon Chaney Jr • 1941, to
An American Werewolf in London • 1981, Silver Bullet • 1985 or even The Wolfman • 2010.
What I like and will stick out about this one is the style of a scared soul transforming into a beast of the night, or a creature to be hunted, or a monster terrorizing its a tried and true formula.
Here we have the great talent of Michael J Fox as a Teen Wolf, going through all the teen struggles but as a wolf.
What really caught me off guard is how everyone just accepts it and is like ok he's a werewolf that's cool, at first I was like oh boy, but you know it kinda worked. Being this hip basketball playing werewolf, finding himself and all the rest of it while embracing who he really is a wolf or Scott Howard.
Overall it's a fun watch, especially for lighter viewing if you don't like the more terrifying Werewolf movies out there, plus when was the last time you saw a Wolf dancing down a school corridor wearing a Walkman ( a 90's portable music player)
Just go in and enjoy.
A nice family Halloween movie for younger ones, it can be a bit of a slow burner clocking in at just under 2 hours but its quite a touching film. Lots of magic and spooky hi-jinks afoot combined with some really silly villains.
It has moments of lucidity before descending like a bat into sheer madness, surprisingly enjoyable madness.
It's goofy there's no doubt about it, the music numbers in this have no right being as good as they are for this kind of film.
The story is pretty simple, interestingly being quite the vampire fan I will say I love the fact that we see an alter mirror version of Ralph even if it does break Vampire lore by you know being able to see himself in the mirror, yes its wrong but the fact that his alter self has this back and forth as his own kind of alter character I liked so yea for this movie I wont question it too much.
I will say the moments with Stanley showing his tapes I think dragged a bit for me on both occasions, his character personality was also annoying, sure there was a little giggle here and there but the tape scenes especially were way too long for me, like yea we get it lets move the plot along.
For me the film really took off in the big number "by my side" really made the film worth watching, It was that good I hit rewind and watched it again I enjoyed it so much, honestly its damn good. Tony Basil in her solo performance was also pretty neat.
Its defiantly a fun family Halloween movie. .........just be warned on that bat transformation though, that was different very differnt.

I much prefer the original Leprechaun movie personally, I consider it a much better movie so far in this franchise, clearly they just keep going downhill from the first one.
Is the first one a masterpiece?, not at all; yet it does offer a cool new idea with more secluded locations along with a good cast.
This one just felty a lot sillier, the fact there is no continuity between films with each now seeming to be its own thing, it does have a few neat ideas, I feel confident recommending the first and leaving this one be unless you do have a curiosity to watch the full collection at least once like me which is fair. (Can't wait until I get to Leprechaun in Space I can see it now - shudders of Jason in space -
As far as I can see they are utilizing the original Halloween concept where they make a new one differently each time just using the same character.
The garage kill with the saw blades, seemed utterly pointless and unnecessary considering the character was leaving and wasn't gonna have anything to do with Bridget, although you do get to see Bridget (Shevonne Durkin) topless arguably the highlight of the movie.
The last segment in the Leprechauns lair was also cool with the intersecting rooms looping I will say
I will say while the film isn't great and the bad guys arelike watching a kindergartens style comedy the song by, "Jess Goldman" - "In My Room" is well worth listening to, you can find it on YouTube so that's a plus.
Overall a bit of a silly affair with some genuine laughs here and there, it will appeal to younger Halloween audiences and little ones for family viewing.
