Ron's giggle was all I needed from this episode.
Very stereotypical sitcom wedding stuff, but that doesn't mean it's bad. Jamm is a little too ridiculous here, though. Trying too hard to make him a villain, when they've already done that successfully. Don't need to push it that hard.
The jacket sideplot is easily one the funniest LOL
TFW the white savior complex horribly backfires. Didn't care much for this episode especially the 'spider in the toilet' comment. However, knowing how Jerry is, Babu will probably make a reappearance so that Jerry can ~fix it all :unamused::unamused:
Such a great episode! I was stressed pretty much the whole time.
This could be a Twilight Zone episode
A happy and laughing Ron Swanson is the best Ron Swanson.
The idolization of politicians in this show was always a bit weird. I wouldn't say it has aged poorly, but it also hasn't aged well.
"Tom Haverford... It's complicated" LMAO
The Chris Trager Party Mixtape in the background is KILLING me
I love depressed Chris and a riddle loving Ron Swanson
Boy, I wish movie tickets were still only $8. I don't think that was true even back in 2012.
Great episode altogether, but holy shit that Jean Ralphio bit at the end is absolutely hilarious. I’m in tears.
George: My whole life has been a complete waste of time.
Jerry: And there's so much more to go!
Kramer is incredible in this episode. The look back at George when he says he's a stall man gets me every time.
Elaine and Rockaway Blvd is my favorite part of this episode
This episode is genuinely one of the best of the entire show. Overrall this season was a great ride.
As a young widower this great episode made me really emotional. It is just beautiful how this can be smart in some many ways.
Aside from the great episode, I realized that despite finding the new voices a bit off putting at the beginning of the season, by the finale I no longer noticed it at all.
The Leslie-Ben fight during Model UN might be as close as this show gets to the cringe-worthy awkwardness of Scott's Tots.
This is a frustrating episode. Tom is a complete jackass, and the redemption at the end is not enough to make up for it. It's made worse by the fact that his business failing is completely his fault - as evidenced earlier in the season when they laughed off Ben's help.
The Ben/Andy story is even more frustrating to me, because I very much identify with Ben in this instance. I've been on the receiving end of similar kinds of roommate inconsiderateness, and it's not fun to deal with. Neither Andy nor April apologize for what they did - instead, the show focuses on getting Ben to open up. Which may be a problem, but I completely disagree that it's the main problem in this particular situation. Andy and April should learn to be more considerate.
But, it's a comedy show, and I am over-analyzing things that are being played for laughs.
I'm not quite sure that there is a father on the planet who would be unconcerned about their boss dating their daughter with a 19 year age gap... it's super weird, actually.
Also, what the hell is up with Rob Lowe's hair for these first few episodes of this season? It's awful.
Am I the only one that didn't feel the runtime? I'm not joking when I say it felt like a normal-length movie once it had finished - all thanks to how riveting every second was I guess. But I also just cannot imagine any of this cut out.
I would say this is a perfect film, and Scorsese is just too much of a veteran at this point - this man is undoubtedly one of the greatest directors in all of cinema.
Loved how subdued everything was played in this one, so much so that you forget how dark it is at some points. It's subtly complex in pure Scorsese fashion but tells the seemingly well-researched tale of a brutally simple true story about 1920's greed. It even feels like so many of Scorsese's gangster films turned completely on its head. I love how Marty's films have aged and matured along with him.
The first segment was alright: not amazing but it had some moments. That second segment was GOD-AWFUL though. I'll give the new show another chance given its history, but this first episode is definitely not promising ...
I may be biased by nostalgia, but this was as dumb and fun as I remembered it. First part of the episode was significantly better than the second, but both provided a good chuckle. The TikTok thing is the perfect update for current times (though some music videos are still welcome, of course). I hope to see more of that!
