Sam is suggesting rebelling against the Targaryen because they burned his father and brother alive. Similar to when Robert's Rebellion, began when Rhaegar Targaryen, allegedly abducted Robert's betrothed, Lyanna Stark.
It's seems this movie has garnered a lot of hate, I can say that as a person who use to hate Ben Affleck with a burning passion (No clue why really) He's been pumping out movies that are making me like him. I'll admit that yes this movie needs to kinda get its timeline straightened out or at least use the 2 hours to maybe explain things better or maybe run 2 hours and 30 mins for some more explanation the ending feels way too rushed. Now as for a shooting movie goes it's not bad I've seen better and I've defiantly seen worse honestly it works out for me I enjoyed it. Brax being the brother I caught pretty fast I think we all did, I also think they should have not made it so obvious until the moment they meet more suspense that way Some good actors overall with some B-rated actors throw in cause you know budget or whatever.
Over all:
Story: 7/10- Kid with a form of autism becomes the most bad ass accountant and elite assassin! can you get any better than that? Nah, but maybe if you put the time skips in a nicer order, change some of the scenes around and explained some more stuff this would be a better film.
Visuals: 8/10- Who doesn't like the outdoors so outdoorsy that you can shoot off your sniper rifle at a miles distance without anyone complaining so backwoods that shit, you name your company ZZZ and you laundry money through a fucking laundry mat! wtf
Over all, anyone who doesn't like this film is either not a big fans of guns blazing films or isn't a big fan of the story. Like I've said the story needs work but I still like this movie.. Adding it to my very very very small list of movies that star ben that I like
Sorry Angelina, you're in the past now.
Alicia Vikander is phenomenal in this movie, and I appreciate the italian version of the movie for not dubbing her "screams" and "moans" because they are fantastic and add to an already adrenaline pumping movie.
The movie is the same as the first reboot game on the "next" gen, personally I did not play it, but I did play the second one and if they are going to make the next movie the same as the game, it's gonna be even greater!
This cinematic reboot is a rollercoaster. Lara's ability to come out of situation is always a bittersweet taste of disbelief that makes you love it even more. But, in this movie they took a nice step back to her and so we get to see a more inexperienced Lara. Because of this, every failed step doesn't look... "fake" as it did (in my opinion) with the original Jolie movies where she was a badass from starters, feared and known by everyone and still went on about and made stupid mistakes which didn't make sense really.
I gotta say that if you let yourself be immersed, the suspense in some of the scenes is thick and palpable. The line between mythos and reality is thin, but it develops perfectly near the end without resulting boring or monotonous.
Regarding every other aspect of cinematography: I have to say, some of the CGI felt a bit cheap, but usually is surmounted by the amount of action the movie delivers, sound editing and engineering was on point, note that there aren't really big, romatic or thought-provoking photografical shots, but it's to be expected in an action movie.
Alicia Vikander is perfect for the role. I absolutely loved her for the entire runtime and she honestly kept my interest up entirely on her own.
I don't know if Square Enix is to be thanked for the level of quality and "textuality" of who Lara Croft is and what Tomb Raider is about, but I think it's a safe bet and I hope it stays this way.
Please if you have the choice, watch the movie in english, it might sound creepy or weird, but Alicia's screams are fuckin fire in this movie, it gives depth and dignity to the struggle of a character that is supposed to be strong.
I've seen this movie 3 times now and have a ticket purchased for Wednesday night again in the Dome. I LOVE IT. Favorite movie of the year and well on it's way to one of my faves of all time. The music wonderful, the cinematography is gorgeous, the script is hilarious and everything just keeps moving. I love every single scene. I think it has the chance to be the fourth movie ever to win Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, Actress and Actor. Man, is this amazing!!!! See immediately then buy the soundtrack!!!!

8.3/10
I will readily admit, I was initially just interested in this movie because of Jennifer Lawrence.
The beginning was a tad bit slow, but don't let that deter you. The rest of the film you will be trying to catch up to what is going on. I will need to see this a second time to begin to understand all the intricacies of the plot, which was unpredictable (my favorite characteristic of any plot).
Throughout, the intentions of Dominica are never clear. She seems to genuinely serve both sides, and yet, equally betrays both sides. I don't think she cares about anyone but her mother. Even the 'love' she shows to Nate, turns out to be a means to an end. I personally loved that I could not tell what was in her head because it kept me guessing.
Some of the acting felt disingenuous, but the main leads (especially Lawrence), were astonishing. The soundtrack worked well, and there really wasn't any 'fake' action to take away from a beautiful plot.
By the end of the film, you will be confused beyond all reason. Lawrence's character developed into a psychopath - a product of the system she was put in.
Wonder Woman is... well... wonderful! This movie is a true representation of the characters I have grown up with and loved from DC comics and the justice league animated series. This movie is about how Diana the princess of Themyscira becomes Wonder Woman, a classic fish out of water tale of innocence and heroism.
The chemistry between the two leads feels so natural and it is because of this chemistry that Steve's sacrifice is so heartbreaking . While the movie may not be as layered or multifaceted as other DCEU offerings such as Man of Steel, making use of a more classic 'by the numbers' superhero formula, it is undoubtedly a more meaningful movie. It shows us the true nature of humanity through the eyes of an Amazon who has no preconceptions or history with our species. It shows us the ugliness of mankind, how cheaply we value human life with the wars we create, and how stereotypical gender roles have been/are to the detriment of women without bashing us over the head with a heavy-handed feminist agenda. On the other hand, through her eyes, we also see the things humanity is capable of through the power of love.
Despite the importance of this movie, Wonder Woman doesn't depress or bog the audience down. It conveys these important messages within the context of an uplifting film filled with fun, action and romance.
Critics have voiced their approval for this movie, but that shouldn't make fans of the DCEU fearful. Wonder Woman seamlessly fits in with the DCEU, making use of similar colour palates, action direction, and story telling. While this is a movie all little girls must watch, it is truly a movie for everyone... it is simply... WONDERFUL!
There is something otherworldly magical about this film, and it’s not just the giants from another world. I would say Spielberg knows a lot about making endearing films with childhood innocence, and this would no doubt be added to the mix, but there’s more. This movie captures a believable magic behind friendship, no matter how different you are. I mean, the BFG is incredibly terrifying at first, but you soon learn that he is also a runt to someone else, making this world bigger than your immediate line of sight – it also gives the girl something to connect with. This movie is ultimately about the unlikely friendship between an old giant and young girl – and that alliance is unique to this story alone.
The only complaint I’d have about the film is that the actual plot isn’t really introduced until the tail end. You might be asking yourself where the movie is even going before it tells you, but that’s okay. The BFG takes its time introducing its viewers to a magical land and doesn’t force feed anyone an over-convoluted premise – as most modern films would. In fact, you might be surprised to learn that this movie stays loyal to the book from beginning to end – and if you read it as a child, you might have forgotten the details, but they’ll come flooding back when you watch this movie. This movie is what I saw in my head when I read the book. Perhaps that is the most impressive of all?
When it comes to all live-action and CGI family films alike, you sometimes have to question yourself if this is actually a good movie for my kids. Sure, kids might laugh at movies all the time, but which ones leave a lasting impression? From my experience, not a lot of movies were that important to me, but a good few still remain at my top 10 – and most of those are Disney flicks. For kids these days, that may just be The BFG. The only thing that’s questionable is the idea that the giants eat children (it doesn’t show that, they just give you the idea)…but how else will you be scared of the bad giants?
The BFG is a wonderful family film that shouldn’t be missed. Get your family together, heat up some popcorn – and watch it.
