Oh how I missed this show. I can't get enough of it, I'm not kidding. The thing is that I want everyone to watch it, but not many do because they don't like the classical music aspect in it. Which is a pity because apart from the, in my opinion, beautiful music it is so funny and exciting as well. I just want to know what is going to happen next with all the characters. The thing is, I like all the characters. There is not one I dislike, which is something that doesn't happen very often.
I think Gael García Bernal is such a great maestro. He really is a character, a bit strange but so loving and loveable. Also, very funny. He made me laugh out loud quite a few times this season. Lola Kirke her character Hayley (better known as Hai Lai) was, in my opinion, a great inspiration this season. You really saw how she jumps head in to reach her goals and get to live her dreams. Not without difficulties of course. She really has become a character to look up too.
I can't wait for next season and I'm going to try again to get my friends to watch this, they have to, it's too good not to.
I don't think I have ever been in love with a movie, like I'm in love with La La Land. From the first few seconds, till the very end. This movie had me and didn't let go. My english vocabulary is not good enough to express my love, heck, my dutch vocabulary is not good enough to express it. This movie is everything.
It is beautiful, happy, magical, romantic and I could go on for a little while longer but I won't. I wasn't expecting it to be this musical-y, but I mean, I love musicals so I'm not complaining. I think this is a great "musical" because there isn't non stop singing, so people who don't like musicals might like this one because it's more "subtle". I can only imagine how much practice went into all those dance routines and don't get me started on the impressive piano skills Ryan Gosling showed us.
Something that really impressed me as well was the way they filmed everything. It's a very creative and different way, which I really enjoyed and think makes this movie a great inspiration for those who love film and camerawork themselves. The build up and flashbacks and stuff were really cool as well. Yea I really enjoyed that. Also, the storyline, which does so much for a movie, was so great.
This is normally the part were I talk about the actors, but seeing that there were mainly only two actors and they were both amazing (I do think tho, that Ryan Gosling his character wasn't a very challenging one for him because we have seen him in roles like these before. Mixing it up with all the dancing, singing en piano playing though, you got something quite different and I loved it), I'm going to skip this part and say that you should watch this movie, do nothing more, just watch it, enjoyed it and love it.
I just stepped out of the theatre and I'm ready to write this review for you all. So, let me start off by saying, this movie is nothing like the other Star Wars movies. I was expecting something like Rogue One, but as soon as they started making jokes I knew it was going to be something different. I liked it though, I did. It was action packed, quite funny and a bit romantic. I dig it. The action scenes were probably my favourite thing about this movie, those were very well done.
Alden Ehrenreich did Han Solo proud. I didn't really know the actor before this, but he's good! Sometimes it almost felt like I was listening to Harrison Ford. It was great to see him and Chewbacca together en find out how their relationship started in the first place. I really enjoyed seeing them bonding and all that. Woody Harrelson never ceases to amaze me, to be honest. He is a brilliant actor if you ask me. I felt like his character stayed a bit in the background throughout the movie but I think Tobias Beckett sure made an impact on Han. Talking about making an impact, let talk about Qi'Ra (probably the coolest way to write Kyra). First off, I adore Emilia Clarke. I think she's a great actress and she's absolutely gorgeous. I had to get used to the idea of her in a space movie but she did very well. Her character is still a bit of a blur, to be honest, but I think Qi'Ra could be an interesting character to explore further. Donald Glover as Lando is perfectly cast. They truly did a great job. My brother said, "I thought he was the son of the original Lando". I think when people say that, you've done a pretty great job. I liked L3 as well, she was a bit much sometimes but she brought some humour to the movie.
Overall it sure was a fun movie to watch. It all looked very beautiful and the special effects were great. The only thing that bothered me was some of the creatures they created. I think they could've been "more real". I don't know if that makes sense, but maybe you notice it too when you're watching the movie. It could also just be me, I don't know, it confuses me a bit. I really liked getting a glimpse of Chewbacca's story and a closer look at the Millenium Falcon. That's one great ship with way too many buttons, isn't it?
I enjoyed Solo: A Star Wars Story and I'm going to rate it with a solid 7. I'm pretty sure there's more where this movie came from so I will be waiting patiently till then.
Money Monster is a news show about the Wall Street numbers, one day Lee Gates (the presentator) keeps talking about IBIS bank and how great an investment is to put your money there. A short period after that show IBIS loses a large amount of money. One day a man who invested almost all his money in the IBIS bank (Kyle Budwell) takes the whole Money Monster crew hostage to get answers about the certain "glitch".
First things first, I really enjoyed the acting in this movie. The characters were all very convincing and their own persons, so that was really great. I enjoyed the story as well, although it was a bit long which brought some unnecessary parts.
Julia Roberts did a great job as Patty Fenn who is the director of the Money Monster show and really is just a very responsible, calm and smart woman. If it wasn’t for her I think a lot who have gone wrong once the hostage situation started. George Clooney who plays Lee Gates (the presentator of the show) was a very interesting character throughout the whole movie. He was the perfect show host and Wall Street guy combined, but in the ending he showed a very caring side which made him a more sort of true person, which I really enjoyed. Kyle Budwell was played by Jack O’Connell, an actor I personally really like seeing in movies. He really showed all Kyle his emotions, regrets and thoughts throughout everything. There were a lot of emotions involved with this character and Jack did really great. I also want to take my time to tell how much I enjoyed Lenny Venito his character Lenny and Emily Meade her character Molly (she had a very small part, but it was a very good part). And of course Caitriona Balfe as Diane Lester. I only know her as Claire in the Outlander series, so it was refreshing to see her in something like this.
I enjoyed the movie, and would recommend it to people who like these sort of movies. It was a bit lengthy but it’s worth the watch. I had a hardtime choosing between 6 or 7 stars but I chose 6, I did enjoy it and it did keep me interested once the action started.
(this was the first time i had a hard time writing a review without spoilers, wow, haha)
Miss You Already tells the story of two live long best friends, who went through everything together. The story plays out around a time Milly and Jess both go through their difficulties, Jess is trying to start a family with her husband while Milly just found out about her cancer. The movies shows their struggle with certain situations as well as the relationship they have with each other, their husbands and their families.
I went to see this movie with one of my friends. When me and her go to the movies we most of the time go for romantic comedies. We chose this movie without knowing what is was about, and it hit us right in the face, real hard. I didn’t feel like I was watching a super great movie, but I’m gonna be honest with y’all, there were some tears. The acting was great. Drew Barrymore did a great Jess, she was an interesting character. Super sweet with a total different lifestyle from Milly. I think Jess took a lot of shit from Milly, and I was just waiting for her breaking point. I wasn’t entirely sure how that would go down, but it totally fitted her character and Drew did just great. Milly on the other hand was a character I didn’t like from the start. Of course she’s a mighty strong woman who made some serious mistakes but in the end she’s just herself, which I thought was beautiful. The way she even made jokes when all was almost over, I think that showed her real character. Dominic Cooper did a great job as Kit. He made a transformation throughout the movie, none of the other characters did. The way he helped Milly out with everything and how he was in their relationship in general was very wonderful.
The movie had a lot of “shakey closeups” in it. Which I see more often in these kind of movies so I guess that’s a thing. It made it feel more real and gave you time to really think about things I guess, but I think there were a few to many in this one. I really enjoyed the more personal shots, one of my favorites was when Milly just came out of surgery to remove her breasts and she’s facing the window, that was a really pretty shot.
Miss You Already is a beautiful movie about friends who go through a tough part of lives together, filled with laughs and tears. I enjoyed it but it wasn’t the greatest movie ever made.
I just spend almost two hours watching this movie, but it felt like only 15 minutes. It’s entertaining till the end and I feel like I want to know and learn even more about Eilis Lacey and her life in Brooklyn.
Eilis Lacey (very well played by Saoirse Ronan) is an Irish girl who’s moving away from her “Mammy” and sister Rose to live and start a new life in Brooklyn. She get’s a job in a warehouse and goes to evening school to persuade her dream of becoming a bookkeeper/accountant. In between all things she meets a fellow named Tony Fiorello (Emory Cohen), and they, of course, fall in love. When Eilis decides to go home because of family trouble, they promise each other that she will come back. Once Eilis returns to Ireland, she finds out that she now could live a nice life there as well.
It was great to see Eilis evolve the way she did in Brooklyn and after meeting Tony. Saoirse did such an amazing job as Eilis, from the vulnerable moments to the moments where she is so confident it made me smile a bit. Eilis is such a sweet and relatable character, and even though she makes mistakes, she makes the right choice in the end. You can truly see how she chances throughout the movie. In the beginning she is a shy girl who doesn’t really stand up for herself, she goes along with the little crowd that are the people in her villages, but then she lives in this great city with so many opportunities and people and she learns how she wants to carry herself, what she wants to be and what she wants to become. Alongside Eilis was Tony, whom’s played by Emory Cohen. I’ve never seen anything of Emory’s work before this one, but he’s good and real cute. He made Tony a real gentleman, and all the good and bad qualities came with it. I fell like I did’t really get to know him very well though. I know some of the basic stuff about him, but his character, how he acts and reacts, didn’t have a lot of variety. Where Eilis had a lot of feelings throughout the movie, Tony only had a few. I would have loved to get to know him better. Apart from Saoirse and Emory there were a lot of smaller parts in this movie and I just wanted to point out the actress who played Rose (Eilis sister), Fiona Glascott, and the always great Domhnall Gleeson, who played Jim Farrell. Although they had small parts the were great nonetheless and I could’t leave them out of this review. Jane Brennan who plays Eilis mom, did a great job as well. I’m still not entirely sure if I liked her character or not.
Although I want to know more about Eilis’ her life, the storyline was great. I got just enough information about everything to put it all together, I just would’ve loved to know more (but don’t we all when we watch a movie we like?). I loved the shots they filmed at the dining table in Eilis’ house, which is filled with girly giggles and advices. Some scenes where shot as a close up which I highly appreciated as well. It suited the movie, and brought more emotions to the screen (and it just were very pretty shots).
Brooklyn’s a movie filled with nice shots, great acting and a good story line. I would totally recommend it. (Still feel like I want to know more about all the characters their stories though).
I want to use my last sentence to praise the costume designers, because all the characters just look simple amazing, and I need Eilis’ her closet.
Where do I start? I am so excited to write this review. I probably should have brought something to write things down while watching the movie. There is so much happening in this and I want to discuss it all! I'm going to try to write this review spoiler free.
I felt like crying so many times during this film, not out of sadness but out of pure happiness. I wasn't planning on mentioning this to maintain a bit of "cool", but it is worth sharing to let you know how happy I felt about this new Star Wars movie.
The opening scene, it was brilliant. A great way to start a movie! You immediately get introduced to these immense ships, this beautiful environment, a few of the known and loved characters, it was action-filled and it was funny! The Last Jedi had me there and than and didn't let go till I had to pee (it's a very long movie), and when I returned it had me again till the very end. There is a progress in every character's storyline, it was fun to see them all grow in their own way. Especially Finn. I couldn't really place him in The Force Awakens, but in this movie, he really went out there to make a difference and to help his friends and allies. Rose Tico, she is a sweet and brave character. I enjoyed the part where she and Finn went to visit a planted I didn't know yet and she saved those beautiful creatures Yea, I really like her. Which brings me to a character I first didn't really like to be honest, and that is Vice Admiral Holdo. It felt like she wasn't doing anything, at all, and that frustrated me a bit. Now that I'm writing this, I think that Rian Johnson might have given her that kind of "mystery" with a reason. I mean, in the end, we all loved her, right? At least I did. Poe Dameron, I have loved this character in The Last Jedi and felt like he didn't have enough screen time. This movie makes up for it all, I think getting to know him a little better was one of my favourite things, character wise. And then, Luke Skywalker, what a champ. I really enjoyed hearing what he had been up to and what changed him into the man he was in this movie. Seeing him and Leia together was so good as well. I loved it. Rey has become quite a grown-up, serious character as well, hasn't she? She is such a strong female lead. The connection between her and Kylo Ren was so interesting to see. I didn't expect that to be there, and I think they are very alike. Their connection was very brief and very beautiful. I really look forward to what is going to happen next with those two. Kylo Ren always feels like the guy who just can't get it right, ever. A bit like General Hux, who thinks he's brilliant while he's actually not that brilliant, which makes him quite funny, which is also quite sad. Bringin me to the last character I want to discuss and that is the Supreme Leader. First, is it bad that I had no clue who he exactly is? If it is, and you want to explain it to me, feel free to do so because I like to know. Right now, I wasn't very impressed with him, to be honest.
There are a lot of beautiful new planets and fun new creatures. Especially on the island that Luke was staying at. The nuns who take care of the small village are so funny, and the Porgs. I mean, they are the cutest things. I hear that opinions about them are all over the place, but I cannot, not like them. I'm weak. The storyline was very well written and it really went somewhere, it had a purpose. Which makes this movie so much more interesting and indulging. Every single person who worked on this did one helluva job. It's brilliant.
I wish I could have discussed a bit more scenes but I can't do that without spoiling quite a bit. I tried to discuss the characters as spoiler free as possible, which I failed to do, but I feel like these spoilers aren't major. You can read them if you want. I want to end this review by saying I probably forgot to mention a lot of things, I miss Han, I'm a bit sad that almost the entire original cast is gone, I can't wait for the next one and I think this one is better than The Force Awakens aka GO WATCH IT
(James Corden, I saw you)
Mother’s Day is about a few different mothers who all experience mother’s day in a different way. There is a lesbian moms couple, a divorced mom, even a dad “mom” and a whole lot more.
Because there were so many story lines it felt like the movie really wasn’t about anything and we were just watching a few characters their lives play out around mother’s day (I guess you could say a bit like a real life show, with much less information). I mean it was a fun watch and I always enjoy these kind of laid-back movies were you just watch a few characters with amazing houses and great lives, it’s fun. So I personally enjoyed this movie. Although it wasn’t the greatest movie alive, obviously.
I really enjoyed the cast, they did a great job on that one. All the characters were very likable which I loved. The movie itself had some pretty random shots in it, which I mostly still don’t understand why they were there, and personally, I would have liked to see more interesting things instead of those. Some of them were funny but none were important.
Overall this was a real feel good movie and I enjoyed it, but that’s it.
I really really really loved this movie. Honestly, I really really really loved all three movies. This one truly, once again, lived up to all my expectations. It looked beautiful, it was funny ( I cried of laughter at one point), I loved seeing all the characters again. It was just great. In the end, it got quite emotional for me personally. I tried very hard to hold back my tears but I let one slip, so I was happy my 3D glasses helped me cover up my tear filled eyes. I will miss these movies very much and be sure to watch them all again very soon.
Just realized that I pretty much only talked about my emotions but I also want to say something about the storyline. I think this movie had one of the best storylines of all three. I witnessed a growth in multiple characters, which is something I really enjoyed. I hated the bad guy, which hasn't happen in this trilogy yet, so that's pretty great. Loving all these emotions, to be honest.
So, if you haven't noticed by now, I loved How to Train Your Dragon (all of them) and HIGHLY recommend you watch them all :-)
Assassin's Creed has such a cool concept. Maybe the coolest I have seen in a while. I personally don't have a lot of experience with the games, but I found the movie to be pretty entertaining. Still, it was not the greatest movie ever. It has been a week since I've seen it and I'm still not sure why not, tough.
The actors were great. I really like Michael Fassbender, everything he does, he does so well. I had to get used to Marion Cotillard her character Sophie Rikkin but she did pretty great as well. I could name all the actors but there is no use because the acting was just really good in general. Not much else to say about it really. Something else in this movie I want to praise is the editing. Especially the shadow-movement-thingy that happened when Cal was in the machine. That was so cool.
I think I preferred the storyline in the 15th century over the present time. That might have had something to do with why I didn't fully love this movie. But still, not sure that that's it.
Great concept, great actors, great editing, there just was something missing and I'm not sure what. (it really frustrates me that's why I keep repeating it, ha)
I really really loved Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! I might even prefer it over the first Mamma Mia. It hardly ever happens that I prefer the second movie over the first movie, but here we are. I liked seeing into the past and learning how the events in the first movie came about. That together with the amazing new cast, it was just great. The movie found a perfect way to let us into the characters their past, but also their future. I always love learning about characters or events in movies and I feel like I never know enough. I want to know, quite literally, everything. This movie gave me a lot of insight and perhaps that's the reason why I loved it so much.
Another reason is the cast, how couldn't it be? They are all so talented and portraited the characters perfectly. It was so fun to see younger versions of the characters we already know and love. Let me start off with Jeremy Irvine (the younger version of Sam), Hugh Skinner (the younger version of Harry) and Josh Dylan (the younger version of Bill). They were brilliant! Jeremy Irvine practically sounded like Pierce Brosnan and Hugh Skinner moved and presented himself the exact same way as Colin Firth does. I was quite blown away by it, so great. Josh Dylan was just the perfect portrait of the dude you wish to fall in love with during a summer break. The honest truth, right there. The "original cast" is just grand so I won't blabber on about them too much. Lastly, I want to talk real quick about Lily James. The girl can sing! I loved her from the first time I saw her in Downton Abbey, so it's great seeing her going places. Also, I loved her wardrobe in this movie! Which made me think, wouldn't Lily James make a great big sister? I would love to have her as a sister. She's cool.
Even though Donna did share a bed with a lot of guys in a time span of about half an hour, I overall really enjoyed it all. It made me want to go to Greece really bad, and it was filled with fun little things like the guy at the ferry who checked the passports to Cher's dramatic entrance and the unexpected romance with Fernando Cienfuegos . I loved it and can't wait to see it again! Which will be next Saturday, ha, I'm unstoppable.
PS. Didn't you just love the end scene where they did "Super Trouper"? It might have been one of my favourite moments in the movie and it was practically the end titles, haha.
I've heard so many different opinions about this movie, which I totally understand because it's just not for everyone I guess. I must say though that my opinion is quite positive. I found Fifty Shades Darker to be an enjoyable movie. I started this film with the question "How am I going to watch this for two hours?" but it ended before I realised it.
First off, let me say, I am a sucker for all things romantic and I think the Fifty Shades movies are that as well. It's all quite a cliche (another thing that I love) and in some cases that comes with a not so great storyline. Fifty Shades Darker is one of those cases. What made this movie an good movie, in my opinion, are the actors and the camera work. The only actress that was a bit of a disappointment for me was Dakota Johnson. She was a great Ana in the first film but I feel like she decided to put a lot more of herself into Ana which kind of bothered me. I was pleasantly surprised by Eric Johnson, whom I've only seen in Hallmark movies. Jamie Dornan is always great so, don't have much more to add to that, ha. The camera work and all the sets were great tho. Grey's apartment, I mean, yas.
Yup. I enjoyed it and I'm probably gonna watch it again someday. #noshame
This movie is a form of art I haven't seen in quite a while. I was on the edge of my seat with a pumping heart from the beginning of the movie till the very end. Christopher Nolan and his whole entire team did nothing but an absolutely amazing job on Dunkirk. It was impressive and it was powerful.
I haven't watched many "war movies", mainly because I usually don't really enjoy them. But this one is worth the watch. It's not only amazing cinematography, directing and acting, this movie is a whole experience on its own. I don't think I've ever felt more a part of a movie as I did with Dunkirk. (I watched it in IMAX so there's a lot of screen. It might have something to do with that, but still.) The camera work was exquisite, it brought drama as well as stability when there needed to be. Hans Zimmer has truly outdone himself. My pumping heart was mainly because of his amazing music. Don't get me started on the actors. Showing us all that you don't need a script filled with many lines to make a brilliant movie or to show how good an actor can act. Heck, I think if you can play a movie like this one, you for sure are a great actor. I know people are giving Harry Styles a lot of praise for this movie (seeing that it's his first proper role) and I with them, he was amazing. But I don't want to forget about all the other actors. Fionn Whitehead, Jack Lowden, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh all artists in what they do, no doubt. Mark Rylance was a rock in the ocean for everyone, giving us all hope and showing that not all people are as bad. His character was a beautiful person. Aneurin Barnard and Tom Glynn-Carney really stood out for me as well. They were both strong individuals with their own minds who did what they could for survival, not only for themselves but for the people around them as well. Before I stop my (once again) too long actor praise I just want to say: Tom Hardy. What a legend.
I'd like to end this review with the same words I started it. This movie is a piece of art, something you truly experience and not just watch, something you're a part of. I really, really recommend you to go watch it. It will be worth your while.
I was very excited for this movie to come out, and I must say, it met all my expectations. I enjoyed it soooo much! Let me start off with one thing that really stood out for me. That was the camerawork. Absolutely brilliant if you ask me. From the beginning where they filmed from the backseat of Jason his car to the very end. It was truly great.
I never saw or knew anything about the Power Rangers except for their suits so I'm writing this without knowing the old ones. I think this is a great way to introduce us to the Power Rangers and get to know them on a kind of personal level. Also, it's very fun to see how they got there. To see that "superhero's" aren't always flawless and all that. They had struggles and I thought it was pretty cool that we saw those struggles and we saw how they handled them. However, I do feel like the part before they start fighting for real is kinda long. I wouldn't have minded if they cut that a bit shorter. I love the diversity of the characters and the actors. They are all strong individuals but do work amazingly well together. I don't think the characters really grew throughout the movie, but I get that because we were just introduced to them. That is something I really like to see in the second movie though if there is ever going to be one.
The animations were great, I loved the camerawork. The storyline, although a bit slow, real great (also as an introduction to the Power Rangers) and the characters are amazing. (great casting!) I really recommend this movie, you won't regret it.
It took me quite a long time to get into this movie. It has a rather slow build up. But it is worth to go through. Do you know Gillian Flynn? Well, if you love her you most certainly are going to love this movie. It's the same type of thriller, filled with wonderful twists and turns you never expected, and then when you're at the very end of the movie and everything falls into place, ugh that's so good. I love that part.
Let me start this part by saying how absolutely amazing Emily Blunt her acting was. I think this is one of the best parts I have seen her play. Very well done. Rebecca Ferguson was so good as well, I really disliked her character. (that's a good thing) (to be honest, I was pretty sure her character killed Megan) I could name all the other actors as well, but the acting was in general pretty great. One more thing I want to say: Haley Bennett has a very pretty face.
I really enjoyed The Girl on the Train. I could understand though if some people don't because it starts out kind of vague (my parents didn't like it at all so we stopped at 20 minutes and I finished it by myself, ha). I can safely tell you, it's worth going through. This is a movie which makes you filled with speculations and excitement to find out what actually happened.
Newt Scamander arrives in New York with his suitcase containing very fantastic beasts. Once something involving his suitcases goes very wrong, the American wizard world is being faced with more then one challenge.
I am very new to this world, seeing that I only saw all the Harry Potter films last week. But once I watched those I immediately understood the love for these movies, the books and the whole wizard world. I was super exited to go see this movie to continue my "stay" in the world. Although I enjoyed the Harry Potter movies a bit more, I really liked this one. Everything looked so beautiful and the acting in the movie was so great. I adore Eddie Redmayne and I think they made the perfect choice. Newt is such a fun and smart character. I felt like he kept doing things that were very unexpected for him as a character, and I can't wait to see the change I predict he is going to go throughout in the following movies. To be honest, Tina wasn't one of my favorite characters and she sometimes even annoyed me a bit, which is to sad because I think she could be pretty cool. Jacob and Queenie for sure are two of my favorite characters and really, I can't wait to find out what is going to happen to them and what is going to happen with Jacob in general. Someone who also gave quite a interesting performance is Ezra Miller. He was such a character, wasn't he. He made me feel a lot emotions which doesn't really happen often. I think if an actor can do something like that, it's kind of magical.
I really enjoyed the storyline and the darker turn it made. I am very eager to find out what is going to happen in the next few movies. I really like to see more of Grindelwald, seeing we don't know a lot about him.
One of my favorite things in the movie is for sure Newt his suitcase. They made a whole new world inside of it and the creatures as well, they all looked so beautiful and were so creatively thought out, not only the way they looked but also the special things they can do, I loved it. I would highly recommend this movie to everyone. It's also quite nice that you don't really have to have seen Harry Potter, this way everyone can go see it. Now, I will go find as many J.K. Rowling books as I can and read them all while waiting patiently for the next movie.
A few of the worst guys on the planet are given a chance to “redeem” themselves by helping out the American government.
I was really really really looking forward to this movie, and I got a little sad after I read and heard so many bad things about it. But I ignored it and still went to see it, with my excitement and all. And I am glad that I went because it was far from what some of the bad reviews said, and I enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the fighting scenes (although the last one wasn’t my favorite) and some parts were so funny! I truly enjoyed it. I was hoping for perhaps a different kind of storyline because that wasn’t the strongest thing in this movie, luckily the characters are so darn cool because for me, that saved the storyline. I can only imagine how many more DC movies I want after watching Suicide Squad. All these characters have such a history, and I just want to see more of them, and get to know them better. I really enjoyed the cast, they did a great job if you ask me. I only feel a bit disappointed about Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, it just didn’t really work for me, I guess. Jared Leto is a perfect pick for the Joker, but I also didn’t really feel him this movie, it all got a bit too gangster for my likings. But Jared did a great job nonetheless.
Okay, so yea, I enjoyed this movie, and it got me so excited for more DC movies. Is Harley Quinn getting a movie? ‘Cuz she for sure should.
The Orcs their world is dying so they have to go look for a new world to live in. They get called by a magic named the Fel and that’s how they find their new world. The first half of the Orcs goes through the portal and soon find out that their new world is already inhabited by the human race. The Fel is a dark magic that is slowly taking over all of the Orcs, and those Orcs want to kill all humans and take their world. Although some Orcs are still sane and they are out to try to find a way to live in peace among the humans.
I heard of the Warcraft games before, but never bought the games to actually play it. So I had sort of knew what this movie was about but I didn’t know as much details about the worlds and races as the people who actually played the game. So I’m speaking out of the perspective of someone who doesn’t know the “original” story.
I LOVED Warcraft! It was action filled and a great storyline. I really liked most of the characters and I’m very interested in getting to know more about them. Not only about their futures but about their history as well. Especially the Orcs. I now know why there are green and skin colored ones but I also want to know why Garona is an Orc but still looks so human in almost every aspect. Here is some praise for Paula Patton while I’m at it. I adored her, she played such a powerful character and she did great. Ben Foster was so so good as well, I really liked his character in the beginning but that soon enough turned around. They did a great job casting Ben Foster as Medivh, he's got a good face for it. Ben Schnetzer was kind of a new actor for me but I really liked his character and acting, I’m very excited to see more from him. I was a bit disappointed in Dominic Cooper, it wasn’t that is acting was horribly bad or something like that, I just found his character to be rather weak-ish.
The following text contains me screaming (aka aggressively typing) about the amount of love I feel towards Travis Fimmel. You can skip it if you want :-)

I JUST WANT TO SCREAM IN TRAVIS FIMMEL HIS FACE HOW MUCH I LOVE HIM AND HOW PROUD I AM. I DONT KNOW WHY AND IT DOESN’T MAKE MUCH SENSE BUT I'VE SEEN HIM DOING ALOT AND I'M SO HAPPY THAT HE GETS TO BE A FRONTMAN IN THIS MOVIE I KNOW THAT SOUNDS WEIRD BUT HE IS SO AMAZING AND I HAVE BEEN SUPPORTING HIM FOR QUITE A WHILE NOW AND I’M JUST SO HAPPY THAT HE GOT THIS PART AND IT’S JUST PERFECT. ALTHOUGH I SOMETIMES HEARD HIS INNER RAGNAR LOTHBROK COMING OUT HE STILL DID SO GOOD AND HE JUST DESERVES SO MUCH. THAT’S ALL.

I am fascinated by how much they can make with computers now, and it keep getting better and better. I talked about it in my review of Jungle Book but with this one again, it’s amazing and I can’t wait to find out what they will be able to build in the future.
I am very exited about Warcraft and how it will continue because I loved this one!
After being out of the spotlight for a long time The Horseman make their comeback, ready to bring one more bad guy in. Although it doesn’t really go as planned once they get interfered.
I looooved the first Now You See Me. I was blown away by how much I enjoyed it. I love all the magic tricks and I just want to see more and more. The way they made such a spectacle of the shows really gave me goosebumps, I enjoyed it so so much! So I was very happy once they announced this one, although it was a bit of a disappointment compared to the first one. I mean, the shows were still really cool and the way they made all the plans work, it was once again fascinating to get to know about. It just wasn’t like the first movie. As I said before I adore the magic tricks, but in this film it just got to a point were I thought “nah brah, this is just not possible. There is no way you can do that” (referring to mainly the rain part). That was a bit disappointing. I really enjoyed their last trick on the bad guys though.
All the actors did a very good job. We got Lizzy Caplan as Lula, a new character, and she. is. funny. I didn’t like her from the start but once I got to know her I really enjoyed her character. Also want to take my time to praise Woody Harrelson, I love that man, he’s a genius. His double role was so funny!
This movie was, personally for me, not the first one, I was a bit disappointed. Nonetheless, I am excited for a new one (if there is coming one, but I hope there is).
This films tells the story of 4 single woman. Alice, who decides to take a break from her boyfriend to find out what being single really means, and to find out if she truly wants to be with Josh (her boyfriend). Lucy is dedicated to all the online dating sites and made up a whole theorie to find the perfect man. Meg, Alice her sister, who’s a doctor and has delivered more than 3000 babies, always told herself she doesn’t want children until she finally realizes she actually does. The only thing is, there is no man in her life. And last but not least, Robin who is basically just loving single life.
I didn’t have too much expectations, but I think it’s fair to say that it’s kind of the standard comedy movie. AKA it’s funny, I enjoyed it and it surely wasn’t a waste of time or anything like that, but it’s not the most original movie you’ll see. But you know, I really enjoy these movies so I’m not complaining, haha.
The movie was very fast paced, I wouldn’t have mind to get a bit more details or information about certain things (on the other hand though, that’s how I feel about a lot of movies). But this one really left out some “might have been interesting” information, and once the movie was over that kind of frustrated me.
I really enjoyed the cast and all the characters. Rebel Wilson was once again incredibly funny. It was also fun to see Jason Mantzoukas and Damon Wayans Jr. again and it’s always a pleasure to have Anders Holm to look at, if I may add. I did feel like Leslie Mann, Alison Brie and Dakota Johnson were just their standard characters (I know same goes to almost all the other actors, but still).
So, not much new about this movie but fun nonetheless. :-)
The Huntsman Winter’s War is a prequel off Snow White & the Huntsman. It tells the story of how the Huntsman became and also how Ravenna became and how big a part the mirror actually plays in her life.
I liked this movie better than Snow White & the Huntsman. When I watched this movie I realized I hardly remember anything of Snow White & the Huntsman, so I should probably watch that one again now. I’m pretty sure I would have remembered Chris Hemsworth speaking Scottish. So when the movie started that felt like kind of a shock, haha. The movie locations were very beautiful and brought a lot to the vibe of it all. Also, I can talk for hours about how pretty al the costumes were. I absolutely adored them, especially Freya her dresses suited her so well.
Chris Hemsworth was his great self yet again. While I was watching I realized how alike The Huntsman and Thor actually are, or maybe it’s just because it’s Chris. I don’t know, so some parts felt a bit Thor-ish. He did a great job though! Great fight scenes (especially the one in the bar, I love fighting scenes without music) and he was so funny as well! I was a bit disappointed in Jessica Chastain her character Sara. I didn’t get enough information about her to really get to know and love her. Jessica Chastain for sure is on my favorite actresses list so I adore her, but I had a bit of a hard time with Sara. I just like to know as much as possible about the characters. Never enough information, ya feel. Charlize Theron was a great Ravenna yet again, she really fits the character. Although we haven’t seen a lot of her this movie, she was amazing whenever she was on screen. I was so surprised about Emily Blunt her performance as Freya. She’s a complicated character who’s just a bit in a fight with herself, she thinks she’s doing good, or at least I felt like she think’s she’s doing good, while she’s actually doing so much wrong. She was sane enough to “lead” and partly understand what she’s doing but behind it all it was so clear that she was slowly turning insane of the loss she had to endure. Emily showed it throughout the whole movie and now when I look at posters I even see those emotions in her eyes. She was really, really good.
To end my little story I’d like to thank the dwarfs for the fun laughs, cuz they were hilarious.
(Emily Blunt was so good though, I can’t get over it, seriously)
One night out of nowhere Lotje Sodderland ends up in the hospital because of a stroke. The film takes you on Lotjes journey of recovering with all it’s ups and downs.
This film made me so sad, and I didn’t really know why. Lotje shows herself as such a beautiful, strong, happy and optimistic woman. In the end I think what made me sad was the fact that she didn’t deserve to go through all that. But then again, nobody does. I could feel her struggle with finding words, writing and even reading. Every time she couldn’t find the words for something all I wanted to do was help her.
This is such a strong movie and it gave me the time to reflect on the fact that these things happen as well, having a stroke is a something so big for the people who have them and the people around those people. You never really hear anything about it though and this documentary gives us the opportunity to reflect on it, to think about it and to understand.
I really enjoyed the footage that Lotje filmed herself, it made it so much more personal. I think the way they brought the colours into the footage was great as well, first I thought “This probably isn’t what Lotje is really seeing” but then I thought, maybe it is. She had a say I everything, she is one of the directors, so she must have told and explained how everything looked and felt. That made me feel so much closer and it helped me understand even better. You became part of the experience.
Although I sometimes didn’t really understand the medical terms, or the things the doctors where saying, I learned so much from this documentary. I think everyone should watch it, interested in the brain or in people who recover from strokes or not, it is worth it.
Spotlight is a movie about a team inside The Boston Globe, called Spotlight. They investigate stories and work confidential. When a new editor start the work for the Globe, Spotlight is made to investigate the Geoghan case, which is about a priest that molested children. Once Spotlight starts working on the case they find out about more and more priests who did the same thing.
I was blown away by how great the actors were. Mark Ruffelo and Liev Schreiber stood out for me. They really became Mike Rezendes (Mark’s character) and Marty Baron (Liev’s character) which I find very fascinating. The way they talk, the way their faces move, it’s truly amazing. Michael Keaton as Walter Robinson aka Robby is so good as well (what’s new). I feel like all the roles Rachel McAdams plays are kind of the same (she played Sacha Pfeiffer in this one), but she was as marvelous as ever. It wasn’t only the main character though. Even the actors with smaller roles were so good. I really enjoyed the acting in Spotlight, which obviously makes the movie even better.
I’m so happy this move got oscars because it really deserves it. The movie is a biography and I love watching films like these because most of the time I didn’t even know about the story. As I said before, the actors where great, it’s an interesting story and I highly enjoyed it.
I want to start this review off by saying how impressed I am, every time I watch a Despicable Me/Minions movie, with the creativity that goes into the story and animations. I love that there are even jokes going on in the background. With these movies, the sky is the limit, and it shows. They come up with the most hilarious and creative things to make to storyline more fun. I really appreciate that in a movie. Having said that, I must be honest and say that this movie in not my favorite one in the franchise. It was more action filled and their target group is a bit older for this movie then it was for the ones before. Resolving into sometimes maybe a bit too cruel jokes. (for example, in the beginning, the minions come by in a submarine of some sort but by doing so killing a fish. Doesn't sound that cruel or anything, I know, but you have to see it first, lol)
I love the minions, so if you ask me they could have had a bigger part in this movie. They make me laugh like a mad woman, to be honest #noshame. I loved the storyline where Lucy "learned" to be a mom and bonded with the three kids. Talking about the kids, Agnes, I can't, she is the cutest, seriously.
It's a fun movie that you for sure should watch if you enjoyed the other Despicable Me's, I laughed and I enjoyed it, but in my opinion, it doesn't top the previous once.
Cool movie to watch, kind of unexpected in the beginning but turns quite expected the further you get into it. There is a "big" twist in the end but I guess you figured that out a bit before they let you in on the "big twist". Apart from that, a good movie, with a good script. I liked the camera work when they switched to something upside down or to the place Louis was while in his coma. Very beautiful locations and a good cast. I was pleasantly surprised by Aiden Longworth who plays Louis Drax. I wasn't sure whether to love or to hate him, to be honest. I'm basically in love with both Jamie Dornan and Sarah Gadon so not much to complain about for me there. I must say that Sarah Gadon her acting stood out for me. She did really really well. Someone who also surprised me was Oliver Platt as Dr. Perez. I can't remember seeing him in any other movie before, but I think he is a pretty good actor. The casting for this movie altogether was very well done. Aaron Paul as Peter Drax was a brilliant choice (you'll get that once you watch the movie), his face just fits the character so well.
Not my favorite movie but if you enjoy thrillers with kind of messed up people and twists, you should watch this for sure.
Passengers has action, a spacecraft, some science but above all it has romance. I personally didn't see the amount of romance coming. I thought that I was going to watch a full-on action filled science fiction movie but that turned out a little different. Still, I don't think Passengers is a bad movie at all. I just had to adjust a bit to it.
The camera work and I assume green screen material was very well shot/made. It didn't look fake at all. The movie is basically built around Chris Pratt his character Jim and Jennifer Lawrence her character Aurora, both very well done. But I guess that's what you get when you put two, if you ask me, great actors together. I think Michael Sheen as Arthur was really good too. He didn't do a whole lot but I really enjoyed his presence in the movie. (does that sound weird? Probably a bit).
Not the storyline I was expecting but very enjoyable nonetheless. Quite a long buildup to the action part and perhaps not the strongest ending, but hey, it's a happy one. I think the acting is what made this movie a real good one.
I would like to end this review with the following words, for you all to enjoy and remember: Chris Pratt's booty
Thank you and goodbye.
Is it just me or is Ben Affleck dropping great movies like a madman? I think The Accountant for sure is one of those. It very a very interesting story and Ben Affleck plays his part of Chris Wolff very well. Although the storyline sometimes felt a bit slow and I personally felt like there were missing a few things in some parts. I found it to be a really good movie nonetheless. There were a some really great twists in the end, which I really enjoyed.
I haven't seen much of Jon Bernthal his work but I was so pleasantly surprised. He's cool. J.K. Simmons was once again great, I do feel like he doesn't really play a lot of different characters, he's still great at what he does. Cynthia Addai-Robinson was something different. I've seen her mostly doing these really though characters, and it was refreshing to see her play Marybeth Medina a little bit more vulnerable. Now I'm going to speak out a probably unpopular opinion, which is that Anna Kendrick just isn't my favourite actress. Not saying she's not a good actress. But you know, I'm not really feeling it. Saawrry.
The movie started off with some great shots (like closeups and move-ins) which I really enjoyed. So the camera work was great, so was the acting and the story was good. AKA I recommend this.
(and I just really like Ben Affleck.)
Once again Disney brought us a beautifully created and fun movie. Full of love, jokes and inspiring characters. I enjoyed it as much as I basically enjoy every Disney movie. I always like seeing how "realistic" and even more beautiful they make their newest movies, there is always improvement. It was fun to see something from a different culture. I don't think there are a lot of people who know about Hawaii and all it's myths and hero's (Not sure if Maui is a real thing over there, but would be cool if he is). Got a bit confused about the name of the movie though. The internet told me that there's a reason why "Moana" is called "Vaiana" over here, but I didn't really understand it. I like both names so I'm not complaining, but I must say, it's a wee bit confusing.
The music for Moana was great. I know Lin-Manuel Miranda was a part of the music team, and although I felt like some songs resembled some Hamilton songs, I adored it nonetheless. I really recommend this movie, to grownups as much as kids. There are a few scary-ish parts in there (some people had to leave the theater with their kids because they found it rather scary), but a part from that it is absolutely wonderful.
This wonderful film tells the story of a girl called Sophie and her great friend who goes by the name of the Big Friendly Giant. Together they are out on an adventure which involves catching and bringing dreams, but most of all, making Giant Country safe and friendly again.
From the moment I saw the first trailer, I have been exited about this movie. I was planning on watching it earlier but couldn't find the time. My excitement and anticipation grew and so did my expectation. This movie lived up to all of them, and not only a little bit. This movie was purely amazing. So magical, so beautiful and so much fun. I adored it. I watched it with my family and it has been quite a while that we watched a movie that all of us enjoyed. The story is so creative and well written and they did such an amazing job bringing everything to life. It amazes me every day again, how many great things can be done with animation nowadays. I will never stop praising it. I can only imagine how much imagination Ruby Barnhill (who playes the roll of Sophie) must posses, acting around, I guess, a lot of blue. She did amazing. Mark Rylance as well! I loved how much the BFG actually looked like him. The way he talked, all the words were so funny. A real pleasure.
The whole movie was just such a joy in general. I think it also tells us quite a imported story about standing up for ourselves and not to be afraid of asking for help. This for sure is an amazing film not only for kids, but for people of all ages.
After a terrible accident Pete ends up in the woods, only to make a very interesting new friend...
This is what I would call the perfect family movie. I have two young nieces who are basically scared of everything that happens in movies, and this is the first film that made me think "hey, I could totally watch this with them". It's a very nice and quite "friendly", that's how I would describe it. The visuals are absolutely amazing, Elliot looks so real. I can't figure out how they get it done so well but I love it. It took some time for me to get used to Elliot his appearance though, it sometimes felt a bit like he was part dog, part dragon. Also because I was imagine a friendly "Smaug" so a fluffy Elliot was a whole lot different, but I was diggin' it in the end fo sho. Oakes Fegley his performance as Pete was so good as well as Bryce Dallas Howard her performance as Grace. Those two really stood out for me in this movie, so they deserve the praise. (Oona Laurence and Robert Redford were really cool as well) I really liked the storyline, although it was all kind of predictable and I must say, a bit simple, I really enjoyed it. The only thing that bothered me a bit about this movie was that it felt like everything was taking quite long, it's kind of a slow movie but very enjoyable nonetheless.
I can't wait to watch this with my nieces because I'm sure they are going to love it :-)
