A Hologram for the King

A Hologram for the King is about the businessman Alan Clay, who leaves for Saudi Arabia to pitch a new idea with his team, in order to earn enough money to pay for his daughter’s college. On his journey in Saudi Arabia Alan meets a lot of interesting people and get tested on his patience multiple times.

So, do you ever watch a movie and you keep trying to find your opinion about it but you just don’t know? Well, that’s what I’m feeling right now. The acting in the movie was pretty good and some parts were rather funny. I just don’t know how to feel about the storyline I guess. It’s a bummer really because otherwise this would have been a pretty great movie!

It was interesting to see the difference between the Arabian and American culture. There is obviously quite a big difference. So it was fun to see how they handled it.

I really enjoyed Alexander Black his character Yousef.

The Perfect Date

I was expecting something like Too All the Boys I've Loved Before, that wasn't it. I think because of that, I enjoyed it less. The cast was great though, that was one of the things that got me really excited. The storyline and the character development were both a bit disappointing. It was a fun and easy going movie, but don't expect too much from it.

Red Sparrow

The start of the movie was very slow but the part where Dominika learns how to manipulate was interesting. The second part of the movie went incredibly fast. Making me feel like I missed a few things. The most interesting part of this movie is Jennifer Lawrence her character Dominika Egorova. You never really know what she's thinking and what she is going to do next. Making the ending a great surprise.

The Russian accents weren't really doing it for me but apart from that, the acting was good. Joel Edgerton his character Nate Nash was such a sweet man. I really enjoyed seeing him and Jennifer Lawrence working together.

I enjoyed it but I probably won't watch it again.
To end this review I'd like to say: I want Dominika her wardrobe.

The Little Mermaid

I was expecting something like the original "The Little Mermaid", let me tell you, it's nothing like that. It made me a bit disappointed, but once I let go of the "original story", it was quite enjoyable. I love Poppy Drayton and William Moseley, so it was fun to see them do a movie together. I probably won't watch it again, but I'm rating it with a very solid 6.

Pilgrimage

It was very different from what I expected and it's not my favourite movie but you can see they really put a lot of effort into it. All the different languages and the camera work. I really enjoyed that. Jon Bernthal and Tom Holland together was a great match! I think they both are great actors and it was fun to see their characters working together en protecting each other the way they did.

I was hoping to get to know more about Jon Bernthal his character since the army seemed to know him, so I was kind of disappointed with the movie ending the way it did.

It was an okay movie. For me, personally, Tom Holland an Jon Bernthal made it quite a bit better.

Dirty Grandpa

It for sure made me laugh, but it also made me very confused about basically everything. Some jokes were just a bit too much for me I think, but some were brilliant, I have to give them that. I think the story underneath all the jokes was quite nice. I really like the relationship between Jason and Shadia, but also Jason and Dick. If you think about it, it's all quite sweet, but it was put into a jacked of dirty jokes.

I wasn't planning on watching it (even though in my opinion Zac Efron has been making brilliant movies lately), but then it turned up on Netflix and I watched it with a friend. To be honest, if you don't watch it you won't miss much. But if you want something easy going, quite funny and a bit weird, you should watch it. I'm giving this one a very solid 6.

Rough Night

This movie wasn't what I expected at all. And I'm still not sure whether that's positive or not. I enjoyed it but I wouldn't watch it again.

Scarlett Johansson as Jess wasn't a great casting in my opinion. I understand that she wanted to do or try something else, and I respect that but I wasn't feeling it. I rather see her in action movies, to be honest. All the side characters, though, were really well casted. I loved every single one. They were all such interesting and different individuals, I really enjoyed seeing them work together.

The movie had a solid storyline but I got frustrated by the fact that I saw so many options to get rid of the body (do I have issues? maybe.), but somehow none of the characters saw it. I want to give this movie a solid 6,5 but since that's not possible I'm going to go for a 6.

War on Everyone

War on Everyone was different from what I expected when I put on. At first I didn't like it, to be honest. But once I got to know the characters a little better it was okay. It wasn't as funny as I hoped it was going to be but the actors were great. I really enjoyed Alexander Skarsgard his character Terry Monroe. I kind of disliked him in the beginning but he turned out to be pretty great. A bit strange but with his heart in the right place. I also want to say that Caleb Landry Jones played such a character, really good. To round it all up, I liked the acting, the story wasn't as fun as I was hoping, but it was an okay film.

Ice Age: Collision Course

Another chapter in our Ice Age story. This time, the world is about to end but Manny and his friends are not going to let that happen. When an old friend comes by to tell about the prophecy he found, a new adventure begins. An adventure to safe the world.

These Ice Age movies are kind of starting to feel like The Fast and The Furious movies. AKA, I still like them although there are perhaps just too many. I enjoyed this movie, and I had a great laugh, but if you would ask me "What is the difference between all the Ice Age movies" I wouldn't have a clue how to answer.
They all just feel the same really. The storylines are not specifically the thing that stand out for me within these movies. The jokes are what makes me watch them, and I still haven't regret watching them all. They are very enjoyable and are quick to watch. That would also be the reason why I would recommend watching them.

A Series of Unfortunate Events: Season 1

I think this is the first time I binge watched something. Finished A Series of Unfortunate Events in a day, and really really enjoyed it. Although I felt like the start was a bit slow, with each episode it got more interesting and more fun to watch. The acting in the show was so good, especially the kids. I am so in love with Sunny, what a cutie patootie. The whole show gave me a bit of a "The Grand Budapest Hotel vibe". The world they created was either very colourful or very grey and it all seems just a bit "too much", but I absolutely loved it. I guess the world and the way they filmed and created it all might have been one of my favourite things about the show.

As I said before, I got more and more excited and interested with every episode. I didn't expect it to happen but I even ended up with quite some questions, or maybe just a whole lot of questions. Which makes me only more excited for next season. I for sure can't wait!
