The Greatest Showman

This was one of my most anticipated movies, in a long time. I was so excited, and still am! Absolutely loved it. I didn't want it to end. I had been listening to the soundtrack a few weeks before I saw the movie, and I must say, the movie is just as great as the soundtrack.

The cast was perfect, and it truly felt like they were a family. I find the story to be so inspiring and wonderful, I want everybody to watch it, and learn from it, and enjoy it, and love it, and dance to it, and feel it, and I just really really like this movie.

I am already planning my second visit to the cinema to see this.

Such a good show, I felt so many emotions while watching this. Hannah was for sure one of my favorite characters and I bawled my eyes out at the ending. I also got kind of mad because of the way people treat each other. I think this is a really amazing show and apart from that, it teaches people and hopefully opens people their eyes to what might be going on around them and not just ignore it when someone seems troubled. All the actors were so amazing as well. I felt all Clay his emotions. Dylan Minnette has a very bright future, so does Katherine Langford. I can't believe this is her first major part, she's amazing. Also, I fell in love with Tony. And with his car.

I really really really recommend this show. It's a rollercoaster of emotions, but they are all worth it. Go watch it.

Sherlock: Season 4

Amazing. Amazingly brilliant. The first episode had me in shock, the second made me cry those silent but quite big tears and the last one had me in its grasps the whole time, even now that I finished it. This is simply put, pure greatness.

Coco

I absolutely adore this movie! It's full of adventures and hope and love and I just love it. It was so beautifully made. Every time I watch a Pixar movie they keep getting prettier and it all looks so real. Grandma Coco was everything. So beautiful. Don't get me started on the land of the dead with all the colours and lights. I really really liked it. The storyline was very exciting as well! Sometimes these movies are a bit obvious but this one had some great surprises in it.

I think Anthony Gonzalez and Gael García Bernal are such a good match! I really enjoyed their voices and characters together. I've been a great fan of Gael García Bernal since I watched "Mozart in the Jungle" and it's great seeing him doing something like this.

I can't wait for Pixar's next big movie because they somehow just keep getting better and better.

Sing

Well, I think this is going to be one positive review because I loved Sing! It was a happy, hopeful and honestly just wonderful film. As perfect for adults as it is for kids. I watched it with someone who doesn't like animated movies but he even laughed at the jokes and admitted it enjoyed it. I think that says something, doesn't it? :-)

The voice actors did perfect and were perfectly cast for their characters. With Nick Kroll as Gunter being my favourite. I couldn't stop laughing whenever he was on screen. I also want to applause Matthew McConaughey. He sounded so hopeful and friendly, I think he put a lot of emotion is his character and really made him a friend for everyone.

I loved the jokes, I love the concept and I love the songs. AKA I really recommend this movie, even to the people who say they don't enjoy animated movies as much. Now, I'll be listening to the soundtrack for the following few weeks.

This is a surprisingly fun show! I enjoyed every episode, and although I'm not Deckers biggest fan (which started at the start of the series, and weirdly enough it didn't turn around, which most of the time happens. I'm sorry Decker) Lucifer made up for it, in the very best way possible. He is the perfect mix between super scary and perfectly funny/charming, I love him, seriously. So basically if Lucifer wouldn't have been there, it probably wouldn't have been as great, because I feel like he brought most of the enjoyment to the show.

There were some fun crimes and stuff as well, but seeing that there are so many police shows, it's hard to find something new or surprising, ya feel.

I can't wait for the new season, and have myself a little more Lucifer, mmhmmh. smirk

(I was going to give this season a 7 but, because Lucifer, I'm giving it an 8 #teamlucifer)

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

I was wondering how this movie was going to go since they modernised it the way they did. But it worked so well! I laughed, I was on the edge of my seat because of the excitement, and it was a really beautiful movie to look at. There is a slight chance that I loved this one more than the original. The cast was amazing, and the script was fast paced and well written. With just the right amount of adventure and jokes. I really enjoyed it and I would for sure watch it again!

Little shoutout to Jack Black. The whole cast was amazing but that man, he was brilliant!

The Vanishing of Sidney Hall

Whenever I read a book that has a lot of impact on me, I can't just go and start reading a new one once I've finished it. I have to think about it for a while. You know that feeling? That's the feeling I got from watching this movie. It was intense but it was so good. I was confused about the switching between time frames at first but you get the hang of it rather quickly. The Vanishing of Sidney Hall had me under its spell from the very start, simply by putting a ton of questions in my mind and making sure those questions get answered throughout the movie. They don't drop all the answers at the end, you need to keep watching to get all the answers. Which I think was great.

I really enjoyed the cast. Logan Lerman and Elle Fanning are such great young actors. All the characters were so fascinating to me, they really are their own people. I loved it. I recommend this movie, I can't really say why, but I do. I really do.

The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society

I truly enjoyed The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society. (I think that this is the first movie title that I genuinely can't pronouns). It is a story of love, friendship, war and ambition. The film location and the costumes were beautiful and the acting was great. Filled with characters you can't help but fall in love with. Some scenes are light and easy going while the next few scenes tell the saddest stories. This movie found the perfect balance between it all. Playing not only with your emotions but with your heart as well, if you ask me. I for sure am watching it again, as soon as possible.

The main problem I had with this show was that there weren't enough episodes and the episodes weren't long enough. I absolutely and utterly adore horses and love these shows where you see the bond between people and horses, but also between the owners of the horses. Younger me would have died for Zoe her life in the TV show, heck, I now would've died for it #noshame. I love it. The storyline is not really unexpected, but there were a few good twists. I loved the casts, very talented people. Kerry Ingram is absolutely amazing and I'm pretty sure I'm in love with Bruce Herbelin-Earle.

To the kids who love horses, this show is made for you. To the "older" people who love horses but don't have any horses in their lives, although they wish they had, so instead of being with horses in real life, they try to get close to horses through TV shows: this show is made for you. (the latter is me)

Update (17/07/17): Finished watching this a second time, still loving it.
Update (22/07/17): Guess who finished it for the third time. Yup, it's me.

Riverdale: Season 1

Took me a few episode to really get into but those few "less interesting" are worth it. In the end I really, and then I mean, really enjoyed it. Cool characters you pretty much fall in love with and quite an interesting storyline.

If you enjoyed watching teen shows, might enjoy something with a bit of a twist (aka murder, aka death, aka drama) I really recommend this show. Can't wait for season two.

Life of the Party

I really enjoyed Life of the Party! It was very original and super fun. We laughed out loud and we were just enjoying ourselves a lot to be honest. I really enjoyed the casts, Melissa McCarthy was brilliant as always and the sorority girls were a fun bunch as well. All very different characters. It was fun to see Gillian Jacobs playing a different character from what I'm used to. Maya Rudolph was hilarious, as always and I liked Luke Benward. I've never seen him before this movie, but he's cool.

Something I personally really liked was the fact that the "low point" wasn't too low. I don't like it when a comedy makes me cry, Life of the Party had just the right amount of "low" to still enjoy it and not break out in tears. It's just a perfect feel-good movie in my opinion.

So yea, I really liked it! As I said at the beginning, it's such an original movie and I would for sure watch it again :-)

Murder on the Orient Express

I watched this with a friend and my sister and we were all expecting someone else to be the murderer, so it was fun to see how it was going to end. For me, the storyline could have been a bit more exciting maybe, but all the actors did an amazing job! Such a big cast as well, I love it! One thing that really stood out for me was the camera work. It felt like they "slid" through the story and it made me feel like I was apart of it all.

I really enjoyed it. My sister said she wished more happened throughout the movie. So I guess it's not for everyone but I really enjoyed the speculation and the unravelling of the whole mystery. Also, the camera work and characters were a big plus for me. Personally, I recommend you give Murder on the Orient Express a go. Even if it's only to see Kenneth Branagh his amazing directing/acting skills.

Beauty and the Beast

This was so very magical and I loved it. It was very much like the original movie, although a bit more like a musical. But I very much enjoy musicals, so I'm not complaining. From the beginning of the movie where they sang the song "Belle" you could see how much effort and time went into this film. All the costumes were perfect, and the geography, absolutely wonderful. I was pleasantly surprised.

I had to get used to Emma Watson as Belle, to be honest. She did really good though. I also liked Luke Evans as Gaston, but I think my favorite character (which I didn't expect when I started the movie) was LeFou. So funny. But all the actors who played servants were absolutely amazing. Especially Ewan McGregor. Also, Dan Stevens. I mean, you know. Just saying. Something that did confuse me a bit was all the different accents, I believe I heard an English accent, but also a French accent and an American accent. Pretty wild. I was blown away by how amazing the scenery and the animations were, stunning.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was absolutely gorgeous and I will always love this story.

Master of None: Season 2

I had forgotten how fun this show was! I might even prefer this season over season 1. I loved Francesca, so I'm very happy they put her character in the show. I also loved the whole Italian storyline.

Master of None saw the opportunity to do different things, different ways of filming, different storylines, etc. And they did amazing. This is the first show I watched that actually "dared" to do something like that and I wouldn't mind seeing it more often.

Oh and that ending! I'm frustrated I need to know more, haha. Can't wait for next season.

Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping

I am still laughing. This movie was great! I love The Lonely Island and I think that's probably the biggest part of why I loved it so much, I think it wouldn't be as much fun for people who don't know them. It's amazing how The Lonely Island always get so many great actors and singers together. Which, for me, made the movie even more fun.

If you love The Lonely Island, you are for sure going to love this movie. If you don't, look them up, listen to their songs (perhaps even the soundtrack of the movie, great new songs), laugh a lot, shake ur booty, laugh some more, start questioning how they do it, laugh just a little bit more and then watch the movie.

The Edge of Seventeen

The reviews I read on here weren't as positive as I was when I finished the movie. So I started thinking "am I being too positive about a movie again". Then I decided I'm not because I just really enjoyed this movie. The reactions from the characters were a bit over the top sometimes but apart from that I really liked it. It was a fun movie with quite a serious subject. Really, I found it to be very enjoyable.

Hailee Steinfeld showed us with this movie what a great actress she is. I think it's quite a challenge to play a character like Nadine because she was so "extreme". The movie built up wasn't very special or anything but worked really well. Same with the camera work. Not very special but still a lot of beautiful shots.

I think it was a good movie which I really enjoyed.

Deadpool

It took me a while to finally watch this movie, but I did and I loved it! (surprise there ey). I heard so much positive things about this movie and I totally understand why. It’s so funny and action filled, and I really liked the storyline as well! I loved how they filmed it and how Deadpool himself “walked you through it”. Some people told me there were a bit too many jokes in the movie, but to be honest I loved it. From the moment the movie started till the very last end. I loved it. That’s all I have to say, I just loved it.

Finding Dory

First of all, this is such a cute movie. I watched it with my sister the most said word for sure was "aaaaawh". So expect a lot of that, but there was this surprisingly beautiful messages Finding Dory brought as well. If you believe in yourself you will always find a way to do what you want to do or get what you want to get.

Apart from my love for the already known characters, I fell head over heels for all the new characters! All very cute, very friendly, and really cool animals. Everything was so beautifully animated and I still can't believe that they can actually create such beautiful films and with so many details. I love it. The voice actors were great as well, everything fitted perfectly and fell in place just right. Which, I think, does a lot for a movie.

Although at one point I felt like it was going on for a bit too long, I still enjoyed it so much. This is a movie you can watch with people from all ages and should be shared with people from all ages because, well, it's just really good and so enjoyable.

Grimm

I have been watching this so for so long and I'm utterly sad that it has found it's ending. I loved the adventures Nick and his friend had and feel like I have become one of the people in Nick his group of friends which I think you can basically call his family. I saw this show grow and become better, I saw how the animations became more real, how the storyline "grew up" as well as all the characters, and I will miss it. I truly will. I haven't seen one boring episode of Grimm, and that says something.

I don't like the thought of no new Grimm episodes, but I have enjoyed this show to the fullest.

Deepwater Horizon

Although it started off a bit slow and I had a hard time understanding some of the technical terms they were using, I really loved and was fascinated by Deepwater Horizon. I didn't know the story because when it happened I was pretty young and I think it's great that they tell this story through a movie so that the people who didn't know much about it understand it better and perhaps get that these "island" aren't so very great for our dear planet.

It was a very intense film and the acting was really good! I'd like to see Malk Wahlberg doing more of these kinds of movies because he is really great. Kurt Russell, Gina Rodriguez and Dylan O'Briend were amazing as well, although I felt like the one female character (Andrea) was a bit of a burned in the end, the acting was great. The explosions were so intense and beautifully made, it made me sit on the edge of my seat.

I really really recommend everyone to watch this movie because apart from it being a great movie it's also a learning experience.

Kubo and the Two Strings

I don't know why but lately all the movies I watch are so magical, Kubo and the Two Strings for sure is one of them. It's such an interesting story with so much emotion and so many life lessons. I was truly fascinated. Something I also really enjoyed was the way it was animated. We are all used to seeing only the Disney animations nowadays which makes this movie refreshing to look at and oh so beautifully made.

I really don't have a lot to say actually. It was plainly beautiful, inspiring and magical to watch and it's high on my recommendation list. It has been a while since I watched a movie with my family we all 100% liked. Which I think makes Kubo and the Two Strings a movie like not many others.

Queen of Katwe

Very hopeful and inspiring story. If you dream big and don't give up you can be anything you aspire to be.

I loved the fact that they shot the movie on location, it made everything a lot more intense and emotional of some sort. The movie showed apart from the inspiring story of Phiona also a part of the lives the children in Africa live. The movie carried a message of meaning you don't often see in movies. Lupita Nyong'o played such a strong female part but Madina Nalwanga did as well. Younger but strong nonetheless. Very independent and following her own dream. Giving 100%. I loved that.

I really enjoyed this movie, but I enjoyed the messages even more.

This movie is how I would describe pure joy. I haven't laughed this hard while watching a movie for some time. It is such a sweet story and all those babies are so darn cute. I really enjoyed how they combined so much fun with so much love. Yea, I really liked this movie. Also, Katie Crown is such a great voice actor! So were all the other actors, but still.

This is the kind of movie I would watch more then once. That's something, I can safely tell you that. I really really genuinely loved it. Also, still cracking up about the wolfs. hashtag no shame.

Poldark: Season 2

This season was one rollercoaster of emotions, I'm still recovering and I finished it almost a day ago. I was so happy when things finally were going right, but no, it was foolish of me to think it would last. I love this show but I just feel like I just need a bit more positivity.

I think this TV show is so beautiful. The locations, the people, their homes, everything. All the characters show so much love and passion as well as determination and hope. I think that is probably one of my favourite things about this show. I find it to be very inspirational. Although I do think all the characters are quite foolish as well, which only makes them more human so I guess that's quite a good thing.

You know, I just don't know. I love this show I really do, but they better bring me some cheer next season. Till then, I'll be waiting patiently.

Mozart in the Jungle: Season 2

Still love it as much as I did after the first season. Maybe I love it even more, if that's possible. I can't handle the fact that I have to wait for season 3, I need it now! I loved how the character developed in this season. I feel like Hayley is really beginning to find herself, although I also feel like she's not entirely sure about what she wants yet. One of my favorite things on this show are the characters, how they act in certain situations, how they develop, how to are around each other, I love it. At one point in this season the orchestra goes on tour and they end up in Mexico. Episode 6 is one of those episodes, and was my favorite episode of this season! Once you've seen it you might understand why, haha. They also find some problems within the board this season, it's not like I highly disliked those parts, but they weren't my favorites either. The music makes everything better and I still adore maestro Rodrigo with all my heart, that man is amazing.

I'll be patiently waiting here for season 3 (starts the soundtrack music).

Mozart in the Jungle: Season 1

I didn't really have any expectations when I started it, but boy did I enjoy it! I started the first episode with the thought "I'm only going to watch one". I ended up watching the first half of season 1 and the next day the other half. I adore the characters, they are all so different which makes them a fun cast to look at, every storyline is different, and they all come together at the symphony. Maybe it's because I love the fact that it's about classical music, and you don't see that very often, but I think this was a great start for a show I hope to watch for a long time. On to season 2 it is!

The Big Sick

It was very different from what I expected, which made it a perhaps an even better movie. It was beautiful, funny and quite "easy going". It's not a very "light" movie though, I would say, but it is very enjoyable. It gave the viewer a right mixture between sad and happy. It makes you laugh, but it also makes you think.

Kumail and Emily were a great match, two characters who really made each other better and more enjoyable to watch. The storyline was very interesting and quite new/refreshing as well. I can't think of any other movie who tells about this subject. It is very original.

Nothing too special but a fun teen movie with a message. I enjoyed it but it's not a "must see" film. The acting in the movie is good, which I think did a lot for Before I Fall. Everything was a lot more intense. Elena Kampouris was so great, I really enjoyed watching her work. The camera work wasn't anything special but the locations were good.

If you want to watch an emotional but not too emotional film, if you want to lay back and watch a "don't put too much thought into it" film, I recommend this.

To the Bone

A movie which I think tells the truth without romanticizing an illness whatsoever. It's a serious subject and the movie will make you incredibly sad, but it will make you smile, heck, even laugh as well. The characters were all beautiful individuals with their own struggles and goals but at the same time the same thoughts. They understood each other when not many others did.

I loved the acting in this movie. Lily Collins is such a great actress and she gave this story so much meaning. It was an eye opener to see and hear her character tell about the things that go through her mind whenever she needs to eat. I think this movie helps you understand the illness better in some ways.

I really recommend you to watch this movie. It's a sad story, for sure, but in my opinion, it also helps people who don't know the illness (like me) understand. It's a quite hopeful story as well, which I think makes this movie an even more beautiful one.
