I love that there are still MAGA cult morons in the comments screeching about the show going "woke".
They've been mask-off openly mocking you for two seasons now. Surely it can't all be going over your head...right? Right...?
HOLY COW. One of the most INTENSE AND EXCITING finales to one of the most MIND-BLOWING shows I've seen!!!
Am I crazy in thinking there a more than just the one level of Severance ?
We've established that the innies are severed from the outies ... but what if those "outies" aren't even the final outies, just another layer of innie ?
Maybe they are actually innies to outer-outies that signed away several years of their life, not just their work-days like we've seen until now ?
I for one like slow burns
1st episode has everything a pilot should have. Reminds me of "Counterpart". It has this kind of minimalism that feels like everything is placed with perfect precision. The camera work is outstanding and the very present music helps with the constant intriguing mood.
I guess some credit is deserved to mr. Ben Stiller for the direction of this episode.
I'm just happy that I got to watch this whole TV Show without any kind of spoiler/knowledge since I'm watching it 10 years after it got out (the last episode I mean, almost 16 after the 1st one aired). Just HAPPY man, super cool, glad me and my mate decided to watch this, superb.
I was not expecting that ending, this show must have been brutal to watch when it got out. If it's still a BANGER in today's world, in 2010 it must have been insane! Just happy they all found the way to each other, very good ending, probably one of the best ever actually.
i won't deny that I have huge issues with the ending of this amazing series but when Vincent comes out of the jungle to lie down next to Jack as he dies making this show come full circle I cry like like a newborn Aaron for about an hour afterward.
I was anxious about the ending, with so many hating on it.
I loved the ending. I loved it all. It had gotten a bit boring after S4 till mid S5 but it came back with a bang.
I'm melancholic to see these lovely characters go but, at the same time, relieved to not go through such an emotional rollercoaster anymore.
I was crying by the mid of the finale. I was sad to not see a few characters in the church, but I guess, like Ana Lucia, they just weren't ready to let go.
Poor Ellie.
I don't understand why people complained so much, to be honest. I mean, ok, they're all dead, but we all die sometime in our lives and that's what the producers tried to say to us. It doesn't mean that the island is the purgatory and they all died in the plain crash at the beginning. They lived in the island, all those events happened and it was their destiny to meet each other, in life and death.
This was one of the only episodes of this show I didn't really care for, I felt we could've done without it in the end. Sometimes I rather have things implied then explained, and when the explanation for a lot of things was "Because the crazy lady said so" it probably would've just went better not being shown.
Wow they actually killed all the poc characters all at once
Desmond looks breathtaking in those sunglasses. So much, that if he was wearing those sunglasses, I would also want him to hit me with his car.
The best "Lost" episode ever and one the best of all TV history
John's dad was ridiculously evil. Like soap opera evil. It's like the writers wanted to justify his death. Lazy.
The last episodes of this season of Lost are simply unbeliavable. The writers clearly knew from the get-go the way everything was headed, and they planned a resolution of arcs that are satisfying and smartly done. Sawyer's resolution has to be one of the best, and Locke's beginning of his new era is just as good. Lost let its characters evolve and change, and it also doesn't forget what was established. This is peak television.
I always kind of block out in my memory how bad Kate gets during this time. Oh waaah Jack is spending time with Juliet, time to go have sex to get some kind of revenge. Get over yourself. And the walking in on her changing is eye-rolling, but gotta have your T&A for those ratings.
Wow, there's a couple of questionable Desmond opinions on here. Yeah, he does change the show a bit, but it's for the better.
The bald Korean guy was a jerk. He turned down Sun when they were being set up to court each other, even going as far as to laugh at her for misunderstanding the situation. But once that relationship he was chasing at that time fell through, he sleeps with Sun, even though she's married? Incredibly selfish.
I look forward to Ana-Lucias death, assuming she does die that is.
I'm already sick of Sawyer's casanova shtick. Does he ever stop sexually harassing Kate?
It’s just a shame that Boyd’s son getting married takes up some of the season finale. As well as a lot of other scenes with just talking.
We at least got a Victor and Tabitha scene. I wish the show had like 15 episodes a season. Since we don’t get many answers and then the season is over.
That ending was pretty crazy though.
It's maddening when I think of how bad the second season has been. They just make up shit as they go along it seems and nothing ever gets answered. Not to mention the bad scripting, bad directing, bad acting, bad dialogues, bad everything. I will definitely not be coming back for a third season.
And one last thing, can someone tell me what the sheriff's son and his girlfriend have contributed to the development of the story? They take up a lot of screen time but what exactly is the purpose of their roles? Because it really doesn't make any difference with or without them as far as the story goes.
Glad it's done. I won't be back for the 3rd season. I really think this stupid trope of mystery upon mystery, stringing viewers along without a proper end to the story or even season has to stop.
I mean, 2 seasons and all we know is: kick the music box and the new baddie that we never even get to see, dies. That's it. What was it? What about the other creatures, the worms, the kid, ...?
And now, without finishing one story, they set up Tabitha to start the 3rd season. No thank you, I already can't stand her and now to watch an entire 3rd season of filler episodes of her looking to get back to her family? Kill me now.
I didn't even mind that her daughter or the others were dying, good riddance I thought, since they were all annoying. I even cackled when she went out the window, but no, she has to be alive.
I think that's the problem here. Besides Kenny, Donna and Boyd, really everyone else can die off, I wouldn't care.
I'm really disappointed because it started so good.
Sorry everyone, rant over.
I found the scene with Victor moving... it was really like the, "not a chicken," moment in, "MASH."
And, I do understand some of the ways memory can get repressed, or altered.... I'm not weighing in on whether I think it was realistic, just that as a dramatic device it worked for me.
I don't care what anyone says, I love this show! And honestly I don't think there will be a big reveal that explains what the hell is going on, I think it will end similar to how "Lost" ended, with even more questions.
I love the series, but I'm starting to get annoyed by the sheer amount of wildly random mysteries without any semblance of explanation or linkage.
There are also a bunch of inconsistencies throughout the series. Like Boyd who was on a discovery journey so it would make sense that he'd be minimally interested in knowing the old man's story, or what the f*ck he meant by the monsters are not the worst part of all this and then the music box.
It's starting to look like they're pulling a Lost here. Writing a bunch of random crazy sh*t, in the hope that someday they can find some good explanation for it, and we all know how that went.
Sure we get some clues, like the fact that Kristi's fiancee confirmed that the time actually matched her experience... but they're so minimal compared to everything piling up every episode that makes things just annoying.
More and more, this show seems like something that was pitched as a miniseries until a few producers showed some interest and asked, "Okay, but can you stretch it out for 20 or 30 episodes?"
I’m not sure I like where they’re going with this old-man-tied-to-the-wall-of-a-castle stuff. And the whole passing-on-the-parasite thing.
If they keep creating more questions before providing any answers, the show will go south. That’s when things stop being entertaining and the frustration begins.
